I had Us cellular and like most, I lost my service reception with them up here where I live. I switched to AT&T, and I have had no problems. They are cheaper, I have took this phone clear up to Ohio and have not yet lost any service. The funny thing about it I am a prepaid... .you can't beat that!

Well everyone I don't usually comment on these types of sites, but I thought I would convey some very helpful information. There is a company in Clarksburg, WV that sells Verizon (Nationwide Wireless), but they also sell an affiliate company. The other company they sell has Nationwide Coverage. It is No Contract, No Credit Check, and No Activation Fee. You get Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data for $50 a month that includes all taxes and fees! I'm not kidding! I bought a New Motorola Q9c for $75. It's too good to be true!

Mgtn Down Rt 50 To Ripley / As Far South As Charleston, Morgantown, WV 26505 |
Sun Feb 08, 2009 |
Been with Alltel for 5 years now mainly because they were the only carrier with somewhat reliable coverage in the more rural areas, like where I used to live near Ripley. I've been in Mgtn now for 3 years and the service has always been great. Probably less than 3 dropped calls a year. Texting and internet usage around morgantown has been good. Pix messages I seem to always have trouble with, but I have a feeling this is a problem with my blackberry or whoever I am sending the pix message to. Rt 50, which is almost a complete dead zone with AT&T, has a surprisingly large amount of coverage through alltel. There are dead zones, but they generally are only for a couple miles.

To help the guy out with TMobile issue. Check out NTELOS in Westover. Best plans, coverage locally and nationally and dirt cheap! Also the only carrier that has EVDO data in the area.

I've had US Cellular for years now in Morgantown and am very happy with their coverage both in Morgantown and around the state of WV. Only complaint is all the fees and taxes on the bills. My bill runs $13 higher than the plan I'm on.

To the guy above who basically said Cingular sucks in morgantown, it DOESN'T. There is only one person in my family who gets dropped calls, and thats because her phone is a crappy model [it was like $2]. The rest of the family normally has full bars even on the backroads. Cingular does not own this coverage area, it is owned by US Cellular, but Cingular has an agreement with them to use it. Out of about 6 cell phones I've had in 10 years, Cingular has been the best in this area.

I've never had a dropped call in Morgantown or on the road between Morgantown and Fairmont or along I-68. Great coverage.
