Verizon

I haven't had any issues with Verizon in this area. I always have service.

'Had Verizon for 7 or 8 years using voice only; had little or no problems with reception around town and on the road, indoors or out. Oh I'm sure there are some dead zones and maybe a sporadic call or two got dropped while traveling, but I recall no great notable snags. We recently switched to AT&T and an Android phone, because of low price and high technology. It's too soon to review that service. So far we can always connect, but number of bars flirts from 1 to 4 quite erratically, it seems. Poor signal strength seems to cause a mighty drain on the battery (likely, but I'm not certain).

After having good signal for years in Ohio, then moving to WV. I have to switch carriers because Sprint only leases towers in WV and has none of their own.

I have the iPhone 3gs with AT&T and my signal here in Parkersburg, WV on Rosemar Rd.and Grand Central in Vienna, WV sucks. There's a new Verizon store.5 from my house and I'm with AT&T. My bedroom doesn't have any windows and when I'm in my room at night, getting ready for bed, I have 3 bars out of 5, but when I get out of my room I have all 5. I'm not in my room all the time, but I like talking to my cousin and friends at night before I go to bed. I do plan on switching to Verizon soon or after my two years with AT&T is up.

There is a dead spot in one part of my home. Otherwise reception is good. There is almost no reception outside of Parkersburg on Route 50 to Salem.

In the past few weeks (from about early Sept. 2005 on), what used to be decent coverage on US 50 from just outside of Parkersburg, WV to the east has completed disappeared.
