I live on the Valley Chapel Rd.in Jackson's Mill. Reception here with Nextel is maybe zero bars to 2 bars in the house. Depends on what part of the house you go to. Outside I can get up to 3. I used to have Cellular One over two years ago, when they switched to GSM but before the AT&T transition. Cell One was horrible here. Had to stick your head out the door to make a call. I would like to note that just because Sprint and Nextel merged, they do not run off of each others towers. Two different Networks! Only problem with Nextel is: No coverage in Philippi at all! No coverage from South Weston all the way to either Beckley or Charleston on I-79. Over a hundred miles on the main highway with no reception is not good. I asked when towers would be put up and was told none at this time. Also areas where I used to have service with Nextel does not seem to either work as well or at all. The Cell phone choices are not many either with Nextel. Nextel has great coverage in Weston, Jane Lew, Buckhannon, Clarksburg, etc... but that stretch of highway on 79 for over 100 miles with no reception is rediculous. I don't think Nextel is very popular either. Maybe that is the reason for no more towers being put up. I am going to try AT&T and see how it works here in Valley Chapel. I doubt if I see very much improvement but I want to see how much better AT&T is now.

Virgin Mobile has very poor reception here.

The TDMA service in Weston is great. However tehre is a major cutout in it as you go towards Buckhannon you usually do not get service back until you get over the Buckhannon Mountain However we have finnally made the move to GSM and I am going to see how it goes for my 14 day trial. The only sucky thing about it all is we travel to Charleston a lot and the CellOne Eastbrooke I don't think has made the switch to GSM like they should and means that if there is an emergency or something we have nothing to rely on anymore. Allthough we will keep our current TDMA phone and use it for emergency purposes until that area fills up with GSM.
