Smith Lake Area Good Hope, Cullman, AL 35057 Wed Apr 27, 2011

I moved back to cullman with my family last year with 4 iPhones. Comming from a city with 3G we were thinking edge would not be too bad using wifi at home. We were mistaken. Boils down to AT&T as a big buessness does not invest anything in a small town due to profits are not high enough in the area. I receive no bars at home as well as edge does not work in a area they claim to cover. Tried to set up internet along the same situation and was told they do not have service in my neirborhood only a few miles from interstate. Ended up getting a basic home phone to have contact with rest of world. AT&T delights me again when I start getting tellamarketer call the next day cause AT&T sold my number out. After 15 years I am done with them! Oh wait they have me under contract so I am stuck! There is a new twist that can help u in cullman. If you have a smart phone. Use as much data usage as you can when u are out of network range. They will send u a letter saying your out of network use is too hight and your contract will be canceled. They gave to pay other providers when u use there towers for network. They will also offer you a free network tower to hook up to your home enternet to prevent the cost to them if u do not use wifi. Boils down to the dollar and we are stuck with big corporation having all the leverage.

805 Smith Camp Way / Smith Camp Rd. intersection, Adger, AL 35006 Fri Apr 08, 2011

We have no reception with ALL at Smith Camp. Also, Verizon doesn't reach there, nor does Sprint. T Mobile also does not reach there. We were surprised when a visitor whipped out a cell phone and called his wife. We literay lunged at him to find out what it was: an older model Jitterbug. Those used any nearby tower. Alas, upon checking it out, Jitterbug has recently switched to Verizon towers so we have not that hope either. We are in need of cell phone service and don't know any other carrier that uses "any nearby tower" such as Jitterbug formerly did. So sad.

Multiple Locations Along Hwy. 165 / Griggs Rd. intersection, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856 Fri Feb 11, 2011

There are miles of dead space out in Russell County, specifically 36856. Therefore, all of the new subdivisions will either have a single bar of reception or zero. Thus far T-Mobile has been unwilling to upgrade service in the area so that it actually does provide coverage rather than just saying that they do and not really doing so.

We have been AT and T customers for 15 years---and have NEVER had reception at our home! My husband has an I Phone 3G and if the wind is blowing right, he gets reception. We offered AT and T the opportunity to place a tower on our property (located on Cty Rd 4, 10 miles from Graceville Fl, 2 miles from Esto, Fl, 6 miles S. of Slocomb and 10 miles South of Hartford)) and they have never responded. We have 5 phones with them-----there is still no service in the areas mentioned. How long much longer do we have to wait, AT and T?????

There is only one spot inside my house that I can get cell reception. I cannot get reception standing in my front yard, back yard or even in the street. It's very irritating!

Co Rd.23 Ararat Rd., Toxey, AL 36921 Fri Jan 14, 2011

There is no reception or cell towers on Co Rd 23 also known as Ararat Rd.in Toxey AL. Would like to have cell towers placed on this road because if the land lines go out, no one will have any way of calling any one in the event of an emergency.

County Rd.63 and County Rd.2, Benevola, Pickens Co, Gordo, AL 35466 Fri Dec 17, 2010

AT&T informed me that two new towers were coming online in December 2010 (Aliceville and Carrollton). It's nice knowing that i'm paying $130.00 a month for an Iphone that will not work where and when I need it. Hey, atleast it will tell the time. Come on Verizon, get the Iphone so I can drop AT&T!

South End of Lake Eufaula / Dam Area / Ft Gaines, Headland, AL 36345 Fri Dec 03, 2010

Unfortunetely I am a VICTIM of the Alltel buy out. Alltel had great service on the lake and dam area. AT&T is no service once you leave Abbeville. I would be willing to be patient for the Alltel towers to come online so I contacted ATT customer support to get a time frame. I was told that the towers in Ft Gaines and Shorterville did not belong to Alltel and ATT would not be partnering with the providers who do own them. EVER. So if you fish, or enjoy boating on Lake Eufaula, get out of ATT within the 30 day period. Don't wait until this summer to find you have no service on the water. For me it takes away my best safety net. I fish usually alone, and year round. Day and night. I need reliable communication and data for weather info. I am switching to Verizon tomorrow.
