Hwy. 171, Fayette, AL 35555 |
Tue Apr 17, 2007 |
Going up Hwy. 171 towards Fayette, around the 11 mile marker there is zero cell reception. It lasts for quite some time - possibly until arriving in city of Fayette. The reception is not only for my cell phone but for anyone that I know who owns a cell phone, so brand does not matter in this case. Thanks for listening! Can you hear me now!

Had cell phones for 12 years, none works at my home. Had Cingular for 5 years. Have had two frieds with Verizon. Both works fantastic in my home. They also work in my office building at Gunter which Cingular does not. When my contract is up will leave Cingular never to return. I asked for a 4 month drop because it does not work. They were happy to for $350. Cingular, you are history when my contract is up. Bring on Verizon!

Cingular's switch to GSM is fine for some areas but a disaster for others. US Hwy. 29 is one of two high-speed routes from Andalusia, AL to Interstate 65, and the route is frequented by business travelers. TDMA and CDMA systems seem to do pretty well in the area, but GSM is pitifull. Cingular's decision to adopt GSM and to exclude other digital or analogue capabilities in the phones they sell is a major mistake. I have good reception and no major complaints in major towns and along interstates, but Cingular needs to spend a little money to piggy-back GSM onto existing rural towers operated by other providers.

When entering Enterprise Al from Dothan, AL, from the time you get on the By-Pass off of 84 until you reach 84 on the other side of town there is 0 coverage. Multiple attempts to contact company and report via email and customer support online-no response. Zero concern of company=Zero customers.

Very little to no Coverage unless you find a place and stand still. Get better service as soon as you hit Hwy. 21 for a short time.

No reception at my house or in area. There is a ton of growth in this area and it needs coverage badly. The first carrier to this area will win the county.

Hwy. 31 2m N. Jemison AL, Calera, AL 35040 |
Wed Feb 07, 2007 |
I had T-Mobile and the reception was OK from home. Home is between Calera and Jemison AL on Hwy. 31. With Cingular reception is non-existent from home. Sure wish I had not switched to Cingular. I guess that their advertisement about the fewest dropped calls is true. How can a call be dropped if you can not make a connection in the first place?

No reception due to being down in a valley surrounded by mountains. Why don't the carriers such as Cingular instead of making massive cellphone towers, produce small amplication / repeater stations to compensate for poor reception in valley areas. It would keep tower costs down and they could reach a larger audience.

I do not get any reception in my condo, and it frequently cuts out on Acton Road. My friends with other carriers get great reception in both places.
