NO SERVICE south of airport, five bars of TELCEL from Mexico. All this AFTER I purchased an iphone 3gs and AT&T assured me I would have excellent coverage.

Cannot connect at my location which is roughly 500 feet from the corner of 51st Ave and West Camelback. There are 4 cel towers visable from this location. My signal strengh is usually -109 (no bars).. When I had Sprint I had 5 bars here. I wanted the iPhone which I have had since it's introduction. During this time I have had only 5 months of good signal ATT told me that my luck was caused by their renting towers AT&T new motto. "Less bars in anyplace!"
Inside my house, most of the time my iPhone will say "No Service" and if I can get one bar to receive a call, if I stay inside it will drop within a minute or two. I frequently have to go outside in order to talk on the phone. If it does drop a call, it takes a few minutes once I'm outside for the connection with a tower to reset. I've complained at least 7 or 8 times to AT&T but to no avail. They say towers are coming near me but I can't wait until my contract is up.

I get no reception in most of Tombstone; zip at the high school. I got one bar in the middle of Allen Steet, but who wants to get shot down or run over by a stage coach just to make a call?!
Travelled from the outer edge of Flagstaff to Grand Canyon National Park and Reception was next to non-existent. I was travelling along Route 64 and there was no signal except for a few spots and it was only one bar if at all. This is not surprising as even Verizon doesn't work very well in these areas. So there may not be any choice for better coverage there. Throughout the entire Grand Canyon National Park AT&T did not work.
Terrible service, absolutely terrible. Have never lived anywhere in the US where coverage is so poor and then spotty at best. I'll leave my house, drive a mile and a half south and then get all kinds of alerts for emails, texts and most importantly voicemails. AT&T needs to step up to the plate and provide the quality of coverage / service I pay for (dearly) every month. My backyard backs up to a wash (my property). Come build a tower there. All the health warnings are nonsense. Just make sure it looks like a century plant or a suguaro!
No service on our street, not even one bar. Have to drive up to the Community College or NAU's parking lot to make a call. Terrible! The cable guy came by with Nextel and he had 4 bars...
