I cannot get any reception. If Alltel cannot provide service I may need to switch providers. If anyone else in this area has problems, contact Alltel. Or list on this website
We have NO reception at our house. We live near the White River close to Buffalo City. We have asked Alltel to build a tower on our property and they said no!
There is a 3 block wide band that runs through Carlisle that is completely dead. Move to the edge of that band and you get 3+ bars of signal. Move yet another block and get 5 bars. Have been in communication with Alltel techs who have actually come out with meters and driven around town. They figured out that the problem is their directional antennas on their tower near the interstate. They said the antennas were aimed to provide the best coverage for the interstate and could do nothing about it - but would gladly sell me a $300 booster... . Absolutely no service in my home in the most popular subdivision in town. Has been confirmed with at least 4 different model phones. Will be switching to Cingular / AT&T at end of my contract.
Near Rixie Rd.Exit on I-440 / 67-167 intersection, Jacksonville, AR 72076

For some reason, it doesn't matter what day of the week, everytime I come home from work and drive on I-440 toward Jacksonville, I get dropped near the Rixie Rd exit and then again when you're on the off ramp going toward Jacksonville getting on 67-167. It never fails! I also get dropped around Woodrow St.on I-630. Some have said that it might be the Treo, but I don't usually have a problem otherwise, just wondering why I get dropped calls in those two specific places. I've had problems with Alltel... also HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer service. I will NEVER go back to Alltel. I've tried Sprint, but don't have any reception in my house in Jacksonville, which is very odd... have perfect reception with Cingular at home.

A friend has a Cingular phone and his is OK, mine I get nothing
The cell service at Yarborough landing is terrible not only for Alltel customers but most other carriers as well. Tthere are several accidents on the lake in this area and in an emergency, cell service needs to be available. You either have to drive into Ashdown or Hope to receive a decent signal. Alltel needs to place a tower in this proximity to improve the service signal and reduce the churn rate.
Alltel's service is terrible and they said that they don't care if I can't make a call from my home, I still have to complete my 2 years obligation, or pay $200.00 for early cancellation. I can't even get a half of one bar at my home. I tried a Cingular phone from my house, and it works great. I get 3-4 bars.
