My husband lost his cell phone in Laughlin 2 weeks ago. (Purchased Nov. 04) Went to Amergosa to replace and was told we had to purchase 2 new phones because we were on a family plan And they were AT&T phones. AT&T phones dont work withCingular sim cards. O.K. I'm dumb. Paid for 2 new phones because we still had 20 month contract which we NEVER had service at home even with AT&T. So I had a brand new AT&T phone that I couldn't use, so I unlocked it and bought a T-MObile prepaid sim and guess what. I can hold my Cingular and T-Moble phones next to each other and get a T-Mobile signal and not a Cingular signal all day long! Why is this when T-Mobile usses Cingulars towers!!

Always drops calls here. Did they take a tower down while they are doing construction? There's a big one though by the Microsoft office - not sure if Cingular is on it though.

Long Beach Downtown and Belmont Shore / 2nd St. and Redondo Av. intersection, Long Beach, CA 90802 Wed Jul 06, 2005

Like other reviewers, I would sat that reception in the Long Beach, Signal Hill area is terrible. Service with ATT was o.k. but Cinguar is a waste of money. A million free rollover minutes won't do you any good in this area. My Nokia (I've had 2and a Motorola) is a paperweight. Good thing the Nokia is supplied by work. (No one can ever reach me!) My personal carrier is Verizon (LG VX600). It isn't perfect, but I pay for this one and I'll stick with them.

I cannot use my phone to make or receive calls in this area. I am quite frustrated when visiting relatives here. My relatives have Verizon here, and it seems to work well.

Silverlake / altadena / beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90039 Mon Jul 04, 2005

No reception at home (off Silverlake Blvd.near resevoir). No reception at my last house (above Altadena Dr). Drops in Old Town Pasadena, Beverly Blvd.near Larchmont, basically everywhere I go. Works great at the SPrint store (where I spend A LOT of time waiting for them to let me cancel due to non-coverage).

Metro is terrible, the bars keeping jumping from full, to no service. Sometimes calls cannot be recieved because of no service.

Once off the beaten path in Belmont hills, zero to no reception. Must be the phone because I had at least been able to get messages and 2 bars using my Samsung. Hwy. 92 / Hillsdale. Same as post above, calls 100% drop if in use when passing this zone.
