Verizon continues to argue that their phones work in West Rosamond. I have service on the East side but not near my home (Cagle and Rosamond Blvd). I have at least 15 other phone numbers of friends and neighbors that don't work. I have a statement from a Verizon employee who works in the Palmdale store and says they don't even sell to people living on the West side of Rosamond (she happens to live here). There is an airplane tower that causes interference. Verizon says they have a tower within 5 miles and it works great (no it does not). They refuse to come out here to the residence to verify anything, they refuse to waive their contract fee because they can't provide the service. To me now it is the principal of paying them for services they can't provide - not the small balance. After all the years with them they are horrible. I changed to Cingular and it works fine here. My cell was my primary phone but without it working and living in a rural area I had to get a hard line phone and service. Verizon sucks.

I had perfect reception until At&T was bought out by cingular. I drop calls at least 3 times a day. At my home I get no service and when I am in my car I get 1 to 3 bars, that's it. I contacted Cingular and they told me that Cingular increased their SIM chip size for better reception and as long as I stay with AT&T I will get lousy reception.

If you leave near AAA, near the I-5 area of Elk Grove Blvd, don't get Metro PCS. You'll have dropped calls galore, you'll get missed calls and voice mails late, and you'll have no reception. In general, this is a bad area for phone reception, but Metro has got to have the worst service around here.

Every now and then you'll get one bar, but generally there is no service for a few blocks around here. AT&T GSM and Cingular users with the same phone work fine here, as does Sprint and Verizon. Only T-Mobile doesn't.

I get no reception at all in my apartment. I find I have to walk quite a way down the road to get even one bar.
