Never had a problem until today--2 / 11 / 11. Call was dropped. Tried to call back, 3 bars listed but wouldn't ring--"call failed" came up about 3 times as I drove around "The District" in Tustin. Had to call at home from landline. Could this be from the new iphone traffic?

Hwy. 108 / Crystal Falls Dr. intersection, Sonora, CA 95370 Fri Feb 11, 2011

When I purchased my home here in Sonora in 2001, ATT told me, I would get excellent reception and that they were in the process of placing more towers through out the area. Guess what ! Here it is in 2011 and they haven't done it. Finally I talked with someone at the local ATT store and was told it wasn't going to happen. I switched to Golden State which also allows Verizon reception in this area. I have read where others were told the same thing by ATT. Golden State and Verizon work together and I can get reception down in the middle of Crystal Falls Dr., which is referred to as the hole. RECOMMENDATION: ATT is not for the foothills. Go with Verizon or Golden State, they have free roaming.

Good luck making or receiving any calls, texts, anything in The Haight. I live here and even in my house I get 0 to 1 bar. I complained for two years to ATT and finally they allowed me a MicroCell Tower free of charge when I called wanting to leave ATT one day. The Microcell doesn't provide 5 bars throughout my house as the ads state. It gives me 4 or five if I am literally on top of it, and 1 to 2 bars as soon as I leave the room I have it in. ATT in SF is atrociously (unbelievably, unacceptably) bad and I cannot wait to switch my plan and my family's plan over to Verizon.

this is a dead zone no matter what phone you have and ATT wont let you out of your contract report them to the public utility commission and you should know that there are SEVERAL class action law suits against them in several states for not letting folks out of their contracts

Up until this week I've had perfect cell reception on the mountain, but no reception at my house on snowcrest rd. What is the issue with the reception? Everywhere I go its always exact opposite of anyone elses reception. Does virgin use Sprint towers?

301 E Arrow Hwy. / S Walnut Ave. intersection, San Dimas, CA 91773 Thu Feb 03, 2011

Everybody in the business park at this location has to go outside to get any reception with Verizon Wireless and even then it can be tenuous. I had no such problems with VZW in an almost identical set of buildings in Rancho Cucamonga. Thus, I can only conclude that VZW needs a new tower to cover this location. I don't want to leave them but, unless they get something up soon, I'm going to have to go with another company. Oddly enough, those here with AT&T get great reception... hard to believe when their reputation for coverage and solid service is so bad.

Lookout Mountain / Rosilla Place intersection, Los Angeles, CA 90046 Tue Feb 01, 2011

I've lived here for 6 months and I get absolutely NO reception in my home / office. I also cannot get my messages because if you don't have reception, you don't get the voice mail either, at least not with Verizon Wireless. I have called them several times and get NO Satisfaction. I am waiting for my contract to run out and then switching. I am paying way too much for service that I receive only when I'm not at home and a minimum of 2 miles from my house, in Los Angeles CA. I hesitate to upgrade to the iphone because I will not be able to to use it anyway. I would love to hear from someone in my area who has reception.

It works great everywhere I go. Even out of state. The only place I ever drop calls is in this area. The only place I get absolutely no reception is in my house. I have to stand at a window to use the phone. Metro PCS was even worse for coverage here.

Luckily, I have a landline. It's useless to use my cell in my house. I actually live closer to Broadway. Reception is better if I go to the Broadway end of the house and non-existente at the Harrison end of the house. I have to use the phone outside on the top floor in the most westerly part of the building to have any type of serious conversation.
