Unable to make or receive calls at my house. I have to go down the street to get any reception.

Sand Canyon, Tehachapi, CA 93561 Thu Jul 10, 2008

I don't seem to get a signal for my T-Mobile phones more than a mile north of the intersection of Sand Canyon Rd.and HWY 58 / Tehachapi Blvd. A little peace and quite is not such a bad thing though.

Wife's AT&T BlackBerry works fine; mine does not. She can email me, but I have to up the hill to Ridge Rd. to receive it. When I reply, I go back to Drum Power House, and she will have already received it. If Verizon had any compassion at all, they'd fix this. I, for one, am sick of hearing about it at cocktail parties.

Verizon has been great for us until we moved to Rancho Palos verdes. We have no coverage in our home. The signal fluctuates. It is impossible to use our cell phones from the area. We will be switching carriers to correct the problem.

Edwards / Talbert intersection, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 Sun Jul 06, 2008

No reception here in the shadow of Edwards Hill. Have tried to get ATT to help but they say my area has "moderate coverage" and refuse to let us out of our contract. When it is up I will probably go with Verizon.

Oak and Scout / Oak and Cloverdale intersection, Anderson, CA 96007 Sat Jul 05, 2008

With all the fires in this area, you would think a regulated utility would have to install and provide service in this area. Great locations and high ground for cell towers.

Nextel has the very worst reception of any company I have ever had. The customer support is very very bad. I just came back from Yellowstone went through 5 states in 18 hours and I had reception for 2 of 18 hours. Please learn from my mistake and do not go with Nextel / sprint. My wife has a different model phone and we both had 2 hours of reception in 18 hours of driving so you can't blame the model of phone. Most of my Family has nextel / sprint a total of 13 of us and we are all changing plans for the same reason.

Kyocera 6035
Hull Mountain / 5000' Elevation intersection, Potter Valley, CA 95469 Fri Jun 27, 2008

For the past many years we've gotten 4 bars and good connection up on Hull Mtn. north of Lake Pillsbury with our old, old, Kyocera 6035 phones. And people with newer phones were barely able to connect if at all standing near us. This year, we get 4 bars for ten seconds then 30 seconds of no contact, repeat forever (well, four days). I hear Verizon disconnected their analog system completely. Anyone getting anything in the area now?

It has been verified with Nextel (an older model phone or Blackberry) - there's reception from Walker, Ca thru Gardnerville, Nv and beyond. My carrier is Verizon; I'm in a 2 yr contract - but live in Gardnerville, Nv. It is very frustration to have a hour drive to and from work - and not have the reception in case something happens to myself or spouse while we're on the road. Understandable we're in the mountains - with the elevation being above 6000 ft... it would be an ideal situation (especially for customer satisfaction) if a tower was put up as soon as possible. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
