had amazing reception in laurel canyon for years... then about 3 weeks ago, my phone started saying "no service". after numerous calls to AT&T, a manager gets on the phone and tells me "the government took their tower and gave it to another carrier", "i should leave AT&T, and he offered me out of my contract". "if I wanted to contact anyone about this, I should contact the fcc!" this is unbelievable--they are wrecklessly switching out areas--are we not profitable enough? do they have no obligation to communicate with customers? help!

All calls dropped when heading north on Crescent Heights Blvd. at Sunset Blvd. Sprint states this is not a problem area but I checked the area on several different Sprint customer's phones. This is a fairly new problem area. Seems Sprint cut down on towers negatively effecting coverage.

T-Mobile gets either no reception or at best, poor reception north of Franklin. I had decent reception here with Verizon. Looks like I will be going back to Verizon with tail between legs. I didn't like the sound of Verizon, but at least I could connect with no drop-outs.

T-Mobile reception drops to zero in front of my friend's apartment building. I've experienced this across three different handsets so far -- a Samsung S105, a Nokia 6610, and my current Motorola V300. All three models have exhibited great RF otherwise and elsewhere.

This company is such a disaster. No reception at the place I'm staying in Brentwood, which is a major neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles. You'd think I was deep in the Mojave Desert. How they have the nerve to demand that I pay an early cancellation fee when they don't provide the service I've contracted for is beyond me. If there's a lawyer who wants to file a class action suit, I'm happy to testify.

Zero signal here inside this apartment building from T-Mobile. Searching for available networks indicates that the phone can "see" the Cingular network but registering with it improves nothing. Leaving the building and walking either north or south a few dozen yards and signal strength returns to respectability. Additionally, we also do not get T-Mobile service near Kentor Canyon Elementary School but coverage is spotty in the hills no matter who your provider tends to be. And to think that I wanted to "Get More" when in fact I am getting less signal than many of T-Mobile's competitors.

I don't know if the problem is fixed completely but the Cingular service seems to be working for me this afternoon. I am on a GSM network and they told me it would be fixed today. Has anyone else seen the service improve today?
