Spotty at best. top elevation I got good reception, but lower elevation and down town, nothing. Winter Park Mountain Lodge I got bars, but most of our stay we were out of touch 90% of the time. When we connected it was mostly Cingular Extended. Don't recommend Cingular and Winter Park, CO as a good combination.

This situation get worse every month. If it continues there will be no Verizon service between Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction-- about 80 miles of I-70
Golden Gate Canyon Rd. / Dory Lakes , Gilpin County intersection, Golden, CO 80403

Reception dies on the 2nd mile up Golden Gate Canyon Rd. and continues to 119 and past the Dory Lakes housing areas. Sprint / Nextel, Cingular, and TMobile all produce similar results.
Don't count on cell service in Gilpin County, Colorado. Cingular / ATT is removing a tower during 2007 that serves digital / analog phones and the current digital towers don't reach most of the area. Cingular says there will be no replacement tower now or in the future. If you had service with ATT before it merged with Cingular, you are being charged about $5.00 more a month to cover the cost of removal of the very tower which has been providing your ability to currently use your service. Don't look to Qwest / Sprint / Verizon for service, it isn't there and they are sharing towers.

Nextel / Sprint has no reception in this area. We recently moved up here and had to shut our two phones down, paying one early termination contract fee of $200. Then on top of that, they are making us pay the full cost of the prior month, since we checked our voice mail one time when we had service in Denver. So we are going to pay the $200 fee, then have to pay for the whole month of December (even though we only used the phone once to check messages early in the billing period), so we'll owe them $320 in January for phones we haven't used in two months to get shut down. We have been Nextel customers for 4 years and I've always had problems with their customer support when I call. Do not become a Nextel / Sprint customer. Ever since Sprint bought Nextel, service has been bad all around. And way too expensive!
