I can't believe I haven't read more about the downtown Fort Lauderdale location. I know there is construction going on and with Nextel being the 'Leader' in this industry one would think there wouldn't be a single complaint. Well here's one the record. After three pathetic years I was given the approval to jump ship. 'F' that! I want reception! I have LOST business! Am I being compensated? HELL NO! I GET A BILL FOR NO SERVICE! Isn't that theft? If we are all paying, and yes some dearly for cell service, don't you think cell towers would be everywhere? Even in this day and age! Come on already. I've complained to the FCC and still nothing. Who has to regulate the regulators? Oh yeah, US. Remember when you vote, you vote for those who have a track record and are able minded business people willing to go the extra distance to providing the public which voted for them in the first place, a well deserved service! Why can't these companies share cell towers anyway? They do it with the wired kind!

Drops the calls every time. Cingular sucks. The merger with AT&T has not helped. Considering a switch to T-Mobile or Verizon. Both are top ranked throughout the country.

Switched to T-Mobile to get away from poor Cingular coverage. Now have Good coverage in Melbourne and I95, but absolutely no coverage at home for several blocks, even though T-Mobile has 40% of their coverage by agreement from Cingular. I am a quarter mile away from the "poor" zone at Eyster shown on the T-Mobile closeup coverage map. I will have to return this package and try another carrier. Pity, as the phone has lots of bells and whistles to keep me busy. (memory card slot and Stereo out MP3s--If you have the special 2.5mm 4-barrel plug or $100 headpones)

Right in front of the Trinity area I drop all calls. It never fails! My Verizon phone works like a champ all throughout the very same area.

No bars in house, outdoors on S. side, or within 50 ft on E, N, and W sides. 1 bar thereafter, except 2 or 3 bars on N in random spots beyond 100 ft. Verizon has "updated the software" 3 times; no improvement. Verizon Tech Srvices claims there's nothing wrong! My son's Verizon Kyocera KX 414 indicates about 1 bar improvement over my phone's readings.

I switch from Cingular to T-Mobile and had great reception in my house for 3 weeks (4-5 bars). Then all of a sudden I get a dropped call and can't use the phone anymore. Tech support tells me that there isn't enough reception in my area to make calls from inside a house. I just get "call failed". Of course this happens AFTER my 14 days right to cancel. I would've put with with Cingular's crap service to avoid this!

Rt 51 Near Luraville / 168th St. intersection, Live Oak, FL 32060 |
Wed Mar 29, 2006 |
No bars, no reception inside or outside of my house. Sometimes will get a signal by the time I reach Rt. 51, which is two miles away. Useless for anything except for metropolitan areas. Worst service I've ever had.
