It does not matter where the call is takeing place at. This phone is not worth spending money on. Please do yourself a favor either do not get this phone or do not use Nextel. Their customer service is very poor they go out of their way to misquote you and do NOT take care of the problem. I would pay extra to upgrade. I have taken it to the service dep and they find nothing wrong with it. Several people have told me that they have upgraded threw Nextel. Everyone knows there is a problem with calls droping. I have a business. The rep looks at my call log and tells me that Yes several calls are going threw I tell them "look at the calls" each one is a duplacate because the call drops. They call me back or I have to call them back. Don't get this phone... especially if you are a business owner.
For some reason I have no reception on the hump of the Howard Frankland and the Sunshine Skyway, which is a bit odd as I can see every cell phone tower for 80 miles around. Otherwise my coverage is excellent. I previously had this same problem with Cingular.
One of the worst Cingular phones ever purchased. I do not recommend it to no one. Either it's no service, the number cannot be completed as dialed or it switches to roaming and you get charged.
Nextel has very poor to impossible reception. It cuts off calls and I receive no signal no matter what time of day or night. Customer service reps are not helpful.
There aren't any towers to service the Washington County area or surrounding counties North of Bay County. Reception may be better closer to Chipley or Mariana, Florida but I doubt it.
T-Mobile coverage seems perfect regardless of where I am. Except in Boca Raton, going over the Florida Turnpike while on SW 18th street and Palmetto Park. Service cuts off for about 1/2 mile.
