Since the Nextel / Sprint Merger... Nextel subscribers are suffering from consistently dropped calls, very poor reception, and the dreaded "please wait while the Nextel subscriber you are trying to reach is located" message for people trying to call you. I am happily leaving Nextel after the holidays, but am going to suffer the $200 contract cut off. However the benefits of LEAVING NEXTEL far outweigh the $200 cost. Believe me... NEXTEL is horrible in service, customer service, and phone functioning. Stay away!

You would think that the company that sponsors the Nextel Cup would at least have decent coverage on Speedway Blvd.in Homestead. (Home of the Nextel Cup Championship) Far from it! The reception here SUCKS! Dropped Calls Dropped Direct Connect Text Messages received Hours or Days Late! I cant take this crappy service anymore. After 6 years with Nextel, I am going to make the switch. Too bad Nextel... Your loss

Cingular = no reception, ever! I can't make a call from my spartment, work, or form my car; there is absolutely no reception in Melbourne, FL. For the past 4 weeks, I have at most one bar, but usually none.

We used to have occasional reception, but since the storms, we now have none at all. My bill is just a waste of money every month.

Nextel is horrible. I live in the middle of Brandon and you'd think I lived in the middle of Kansas by the signal I get. 99% of the time I can't make a call on the first try. My signal goes from full to none back to full in the space of 5 seconds. I get "no service" quite frequently. I get dumped constantly. Two way sucks. I am "under water" most of the time. But the bright side is it's pretty good in alligator alley while many others cut off - too bad I only drive on that a few times a year. They REALLY need to work on signal.

NEXTEL SUCKS! I get no reception in my home and up until 3 weeks ago had excellent reception every where around my house. I have called Nextel and not a single person cares, not like I really expected them to. I have 4 Nextel phones and they certainly don't care about losing business, because they told me they were sorry to hear about me leaving but could offer no resolution. Too bad everyone in central florida can't get it together and make nextel / sprint see that we are a large enough market for them to invest some money into. Like the concept hate the service.

nextel has given me several bogus reasons for no reception in this area. among them are towers that went down in last years storms were of old type and not being rebuilt, there are too many people in that area that they do not have enough capacity but now Sprint is helping them out. I have reported at least 15 times problems in this and other areas and wanted to cancel due to lack of service and they said $200 early cancellation. if I had more than the 3 months remaining, I would fight and win.
