Unable to use phone in home. No reception - dropped calls. Complained to Cingular and they basically said "Oh well". Easy for them to say since I'm committed to a 2 year contract. According to the tower map - there is one very close by to me, so I really don't understand the problem. We do live across from the FAA Building and I wonder if their transmissions can effect my reception. If so - then I'm truly at a loss. Don't want to go from carrier to carrier in order to see if one will work for me. Cingular is terrible in other areas too. There's a dead spot on 19&41 near the intersection of Hwy. 81. This is just north of the motor speedway. Signal drops like clock work.
T-Mobile's coverage map was changed from low-good, to excellent for this area sometime between Aug and Sept 2005, with NO corresponding change in signal strength. There is NO coverage within at least 1 / 4 mile of Soldier's Plaza (major population center on Ft. Benning), despite maps showing strong coverage. T-Mobile gives various stories, but won't fix it, and won't call / write back despite promises. MAJOR false advertising with coverage map. All around the city (Columbus, GA), coverage is good to excellent. If you have to have cell service on Main Post, DON'T consider T-Mobile (as of 10 / 05). Very, very disappointed, will probably switch when contract is up - they don't care about a large block of people in a concentrated area (very poor strategy when Verizon and Sprint have excellent coverage in the same area).
My phone loses connectivity when near the low bridge that often overflows when we have a lot of rain. There have been times that I have passed by the exact spot while on the phone and never lost my phone call either. Strange!
No Service at all on my GSM Phone... Cingular sent me flyers and ads for months in Daytona Beach, where I live, My old Nokia 5165 worked here in Baxley but when I got this GSM phone it dont work in Baxley at all.. My service has gone steadily downhill since Cingular took over my AT&T service. Calls get dropped constantly no matter where I am. I primarily use my cell phone driving home from work - from exit 5 to exit 8 on GA 400. I used to be able to talk, but today, I had no reception the entire time. I kept getting the "Emergency Calls Only" message. The entire trip, I had my phone flipped open so I could see the "bars". Nada. I'm furious. It feels like a scam, paying for minutes that I can't even use!
No signal on GSM, Full service on TDMA says "Cingular" Not Roam or Extend.. Youd think they would get GSM there since they bought out AT&T Wireless which was there in Baxley before the merge... Who's there now? I bet Verizon works..LOL
