No service at all. Ewa bound on Moanalua Hwy., soon after the Stadium / Halawa / H3 Fwy. exit, the calls drop on a regular basis, the "no service" is displayed, and remains dead until the H1 freeway widening project in the Waimalu area. No change in six (6) years.

I am from Canada. Verizon used to be the carrier for Rogers BC. Now they use Cingular and NO ONE has been able to receive any calls on their Canadian cell phones on Maui. It is impossible to raise Cingular in person.
Start conversations in Makiki going on Awaiolimu to Lusitania and into Booth - the phone service is sketchy. then goes dead. Sometimes you think you're carrying on then echo-o-o-oh...
I heard that Verizon is putting in a cell tower somewhere down the coast, south of Kalapana, somewhere near Volcano Nat'l Park, to provide service to lower Puna coast... with service scheduled to begin in January 2006. Is this true?
The only way to get a cellphone signal is to walk to the end of the jetty at the public beach access and point towards Maui. Sometimes we can get a signal there.
