I regularly have to walk six blocks away from my apartment to use my phone. Even when I walk away form my own apartment: Dropped calls, bad reception, late voicemails, late text messages. Awful. Unbelievable. I'm on the phone with 611 right now to see what they have to say about the technical support case that's been open for 2 months.
Ridiculously poor to no coverage. When initiating a call, I get a "call failed" message over 50% of the time. Dropped calls happen multiple times a day. In Chicago, I've used Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular but had to switch to AT&T for work. ALL other providers were FAR superior to AT&T.
From '08 til just 2 weeks ago service was poor at best but now suddenly there is zero reception in my home. I miss important phone calls, mail alerts and text messages every day.
According to T-Mobile's "innovative" map which is supposed to accurately give reception for addresses, we should have the "best" service T-Mobile offers. I haven't had one bar in two days. I am thankful for two things: 1) I just moved to Martinsville and bought our home, so I won't be moving anytime soon; 2) I have 15 months left on my T-Mobile contract so I won't be able to cancel anytime soon. (see the sarcasm).
The strip of Sheridan from Hollywood Ave. to Granville is virtually useless and from Thorndale to Granville there is NO service. Even standing outside you can't get a signal. How can any part of Chicago be without service. AT&T is the worst. AVOID AT&T. Don't fall into the iPhone trap like I did.

I lived in Danville for a few years and had no problem with service from Verizon. I moved about 4 miles southwest of Danville, and reception is horrible. In my house I typically have 0 bars. Someone may send me a message or call and I will have no idea until 20-30 minutes later when it finally comes through. I usually have to stand by the front door or in the yard to talk. I don't want to leave Verizon, but we are considering our options.
