I travel to this area on weekends and have 1 bar to "no service" most of the time. It leaves me out of touch for the 2-3 days that I am there. I have Sprint now which is worse than when I had AT&T Wireless prior to going with Sprint.

It's like being in a big shadow. Walking east, bars begin to reappear as I approach Fullerton and Sheffield.

I have had Verizon (GTE) for over 7 years and serveice was acceptable to good most of the time. Since Alltel took over First Cellular the service has litterally gone down the tubes. Due to the attitude of Alltel interupting competing services I wiil not even consider changing to their service. I'm business owner and my concern for clients I do whatever is necessary to make a client happy even if is send them to my competitor if it will if that is what it takes to make them happy. I know I stand a better chance to gain them as a client in the future when they need service / products I can provide. Alltel apparently isn't smart enough to figure that out. I'll keep looking for now for service that doesn't depend on Alltel. It looks like Sprint / Nextel will be the carrier of my choice since Nextel has a tower in Lawrenceville. Cellular One hasn't been able to prove that their service is any better than what I have now. I've tried 4 times and over 3 years and they always tell me they are working on it but it never improves.

I barely register 1 bar when indoors, none at all when I'm downstairs. Voice mail notification can take 24-48 hours, if I get it at all. However, it seems that ALL carriers have problems in my building, according to a survey of my neighbors in my 6-unit condo. And visitors nearly always can't get reception, no matter which carrier they have!

Sometimes, early in the morning, I'll get 5 bars. But by afternoon and on into the evening, I'll be down to one bar or none. When I try to make a call, it gets dropped. And I live down the street from a cell tower. I don't even get roaming. Verizon says they do not have roaming agreements with all other carriers. Obviously, they don't have it with the company that owns the tower up the street.

I can't stand Nextel anymore. I never get service anywhere in the Elk Grove area and if I do, ever get service, my call gets dropped.

I had T-Mobile and I had nothing but bad luck with it. Now I can't wait for my contract to expired with US Cellular so I can give Verizon a chance. Robert

I have no reception from north of new glarus, wisconsin to frreeport, illinois. Very frustrating since most of our family still live in this area.
