I receive little to no reception from AT&T unless I'm in the loop. I just keep complaining and I've been getting my service for free. Everybody should do the same.

Regarding the recent posts below, I called AT&T this morning and there is a service outage. Rep said it's due to congestion. (I'm guessing the congestion could be related to Knox College students moving in.) AT&T is working on their tower and hope that service will be restored today (Sat, Sept 3, 2011).

I want to agree with the previous post. Dropping son off at College yesterday. All three iPhone had no signal most of the day in most of Galesburg. Occasionally a bar or two would appear but only for 5-10 minutes but gone for an hour or two in between.

We arrived from Chicago to Galesburg today. We had AT&T coverage all the way, including a spot at the entrance to Galesburg. Then the connection just... disappeared. Absolutely nothing, zero signal. We have 4 different cell phones in the family and all of them went dead. Other visitors we met confirmed they have no AT&T signal too. I thought it may be just a serious outage, but there is no information about any reception problems in the area on AT&T site. What worries me even more are comments from locals, who say that this is how it is: AT&T coverage is extremely spotty and unreliable. Their advise is to go with Verizon. (I'm submitting this comment via wi-fi, since my phone still doesn't work.)

Get no to intermittent reception, chronic dropped calls. No reception in our second-floor condo, no reception from Ryan Field to Linden "El," dropped calls on Central St. Completely unreliable. Called tech support and were told that we should be getting service. Called a second time and were told that one of their towers is down (as of May) and that it will be repaired in December. We were told we could purchase a signal booster and pay a monthly fee to maintain it. Why can't we get that for free? "We cannot offer complimentary signal boosters because they are in such high demand from our customers." Despite the competitive pricing, I would rather pay more for service that works than the amount that we pay Sprint for a smartphone that is useless for anything but texting.

Had average to below signal until July 28. Now my phone usually says "searching for service". I've filled out trouble tickets and the reps at the Verizon store have told me they've gotten dozens of complaints from Depue residents and they still have not made any attempts to fix the problem.

ATT reception in the Western Suburbs seems to follow the same pattern as the city. Sporadic reception, no signal, terrible internet connectivity. Cancellation is imminent.

worst service ever! phone drops many calls,i'm unable to make or recieve calls..only way to know if someone is calling me is if they leave a message..I've called and complained to Sprint but their customer service is also poor... so ready to leave sprint
