More than a year ago, long prior to AT&T G3 rollout, coverage in this area was decent. Since then, the coverage is sparse, and oversubscribed. The bottom line: you can't expect to be able to use your AT&T phone in this area: only the lucky. The symptoms make it look like you have 2-3 bars, but as soon as you try to make / take a call or use EDGE / GPRS, the oversubscribed tower bumps you to a neighbor with inadequate connectivity for your location. How many people does it take to make a class action lawsuit? I'd like to recover fees wasted and get AT&T's weak planning and false advertisement in the public record.

My friends hate me. I moved to NU a couple months ago, and I keep trying to call them, wandering around outside the building hoping for a fractional bar, bumping into other iPhone users. I sometimes get enough reception if I stand near the library facing East, but not West - but then I nod or a car drives by or a plane flies overhead and my call gets dropped and I have to call my irritated friends back. Again. And that's OUTside! I think I get negative reception inside, like I'm somehow subsidizing my colleagues' Sprint and Verizon reception. I've been making feeble attempts to call people on my drive home (using the iPhone earbuds / mic). Heading West, I've gotten dropped at Golf / McCormick and three other spots before Waukegan Rd. If I ever hope to talk to anyone, I'm going to have to drive home through more Northern suburbs, and isn't that stupid? Yep, I've got an iPhone in Chicago - I'm all dressed up and nowhere to go!

AT&T is the worst - no service, dropped calls. Im in Ravenswood. Ive been talking to them for months about this with no resolution - I need to get out of my contract.
Very very poor reception, if any at all. I have absolutely NO service inside my home. Nine out of 10 calls get dropped. I don't recommend T-Mobile for the Peoria area at all. I definitely don't recommend conducting business from your T-Mobile telephone, as it appears unprofessional when the call is almost always dropped.
I am here for the summer and wish I would have found this site before living here. NO reception 90% of the time and the other 10% I get about 5 min of talk time before the call drops. It is a shame that this area of a major American city does not have ANY reception inside or outside. I've been on the phone many times with customer services and each time it's a different excuse. "Maybe it's the terrain." "It's material your building is made out of." "Some of the towers are down but should be back up soon." "It's because your area code is not a Chicago area code." Unacceptable.

US cellular just turned on 5 towers in the Bunker Hill area. One is in Bunker Hill, another a few miles to the south, another a few miles east, one in Wilsonville and one in Sawyerville. All of these towers are within a short distance from each other. If you travel 5 miles to the north you get no signal. There is little or no signal on Rt.16 all the way from the Jersey county line to the Montgomery county line. Why did they build 5 towers to help a very small area but leave the rest of Macoupin county with no service? It is pretty bad when a signal doesn't even travel 5 miles!
Can't get a signal or only one bar at home. Texts sometimes make in and out but phone reception is horrible if you get it at all. This also happens at work at Ravenswood and Rosehill. So, no reception at home and work... its driving me crazy.
