I have had Nextel for about 5 years and was very happy with the service but now the service is so bad I can't stand it. All my kids have Nextel and they are also mad because they can not use the phones in and around our home. Nextel told us that it may be the phone, but all four of us have diffent phones well they told us that they were building new towers. That still has not happen. Nextel has not made any impovments to they'er service in two years except combining with Sprint. I wish I cancel because they're service was and still is so bad. I have no contact with Nextel so I am looking for a new carrier and so are my kids. So if you our looking to do not get Nextel.
Route 59 / Miller Road intersection, Barrington, IL 60010
Sun Jan 09, 2005
We call the stretch of Route 59 from Miller Road down to south of Route 22 into Barrington proper the "Dead Zone". I don't know about the other carriers, but T-Mobile coverage is not poor, it's non-existent.
I had T-Mobile and the phone worked great-switched to Cingular for a better plan (big joke) and the service sucks. Calls are dropped,no reception, no bars, call failed error messages, etc. Can't wait to get rid of cingular!
Considering that travelers have limited options as to how to cross the Fox River, many people get funneled across Rawson Bridge in Cary. I understand that the River Valley would naturally be a tougher spot for reception however Sprint PCS seems to have the worst reception and highest number of dropped calls. This is an area I travel frequently and have had every attempted call dropped within 1.5 miles of the bridge on either side.
