On almost the entire campus, I get nothing but dropped calls, horrible reception, and "no service" notifications half the time.

T-Mobile is very unreliable and is awful! I live 100 yards from a building with a T-Mobile tower on top of it, and still I don't get reception. About 95% of my friends have the service. We all hate it, and some people I know are counting down the days until their service ends! Most of the time, I have to look for someone with a different service to make a call. Even if my phone has full service, the call is not clear or it drops immediately. I have been in Chicago, Vernon Hills, Highland Park, Northbrook, Evanston, Glenview, Wisconsin, Florida, and California with my phone, and I have the same results. Crappy service! I have had multiple phones, so it is T-Mobile that is troublesome. Really, the only place T-Mobile works is in a major city, but a few times I started to here other conversations through the phone. Listening in on people is amusing, but otherwise T-Mobile has a lot of work to do. I do not recommend T-Mobile anywhere in Illinois.

T-Mobile has a HUGE dead spot in this complex, but it is especially bad as I am at the bottom of a hill, almost as if my apartment were placed in a ravine. In the parking lot, I can get 2 bars, but then it drops to nothing again on Grand for about 1000 feet around the complex. Then it's great reception as you get closer to Gurnee or more towards Cedar Lake.

Nextel has bad service. I talk 3000+ minutes a month and drop at least 3 calls a day. Many times going to no service until I turn the phone off and on again. I have tried 3 different phones, no better. Many times Nextel just errors out in the middle of a call.

T-mobile has been THE WORST phone carrier and service provider I have ever had. I get NO reception in my home and my reception fades in and out. When I am around trees, I loose calls or fade in and out. As far as customer service goes, they are terrible! I have NO IDEA how they ever received the JD Powers Customer Service award. I have called numerous times complaining about their "call forwarding" option so I at least can receive calls when there is no reception. They told me that I was doing it wrong, even though they walked me through the procedure 3 times, and then made me drive to 3 store locations to have someone check it because they didn't believe me and their customer phone service couldn't do anything about it. When I reached the store, I was then told someone would be calling me to credit me for the months I have been "call forwarding" and not getting the credit. It has been over 8 weeks and still not one person has called. I wouldn't recommend their service to anyone.

I cant select the Cingular network using the Manual Network selection option in Nokia. I just see a couple of networks when I search for available networks. 1) T Mobile 2) AT&T Wireless And since my provider is Cingular I am not able to register with either of these providers.

Inside any building around here (Rosalind Franklin University), you can FORGET about obtaining reception. My phone simply hibernates, as an effort to preserve battery power. Outside, you might manage to get 1 / 6 bars. When I called Verizon, they sent a technician out to investigate. Their conclusion: "you're located on the edge of a KNOWN trouble zone; there's not much we can do for you!" What blew my mind is that they KNOW about the problems in this area Well, there is something I could do--I dropped Verizon and now I am obtaining WONDERFUL reception with Cingular and my quad-band Motorola V551! :)
