No cingular / AT&T service around ankeny, and between Elkart and Nevada. Also, poor service in many areas on I-80 between Des Moines and Council Bluffs.

Reception is almost non-existent on the Sprint PCS network. I havent tried with roaming yet, but I don't want to get charged to test it out. This spot has been an issue for several years.

We are getting very little reception in the outer parts of Polk City. They have a major housing project going there and we are getting no reception in this new area.

Iwireless is the provider, but it wasn't listed as a choice. I have no reception in the house, but 3 bars just by sticking the phone outside through an open window. Not sure if we will renew our contract or not. The phone used to get reception in the house. I am currently trying new phones, with no better results. Visitors seem to have no problem getting a signal in our home.

If you would like to waste $70 a month, go with Cingular, now AT&T. In my apartment on Broadway I have used two phones, one being an older Nokia, and another a newer Motorola. Neither of them work. Most of the time there is not even enough reception for incoming calls to ring and the rest of the time they are dropped anyway within seconds. I really enjoy the convenience that cell phones offer-getting to stand outside to get enough reception during conversations is simply wonderful. Do not waste your time with this company. They drop calls everywhere!

Barely works outside the mall - reverts to Cingular. Inside the mall - NO SERVICE.

Churdan, Iowa, Churdan, IA 50050 Thu Feb 08, 2007

Updating my rant from my last year's post. Cingular service has gotten much better over the year I've had my phone. I work in Carroll now but the coverage map categorizes Carroll under "partner" service, meaning Cingular has contracts with other cellphone companies, iWireless T-Mobile being the case here, to use service. I was told my Cingular that if I don't use more than 60% of THEIR antennas I will lose my service. Now I like Cingular a lot. When I lived in Fort Dodge it worked perfectly. Thankfully I visit Ames, Fort Dodge, and Des Moines enough to keep it above 60%. Plus they were on me about living in a town without Cingular Service (I get service two, yes TWO, miles south outside Churdan, but it's under iWireless' towers). I like having MySpace Mobile and Rollover Minutes... ..If Cingular reads this, stick some towers up along HWY 4 in Greene County, allright?

Absolutely no reception anywhere in town until you are about two miles toward Cedar Falls. US Cellular works the best. Also, Verizon worked but could be spotty.

I get dropped calls anywhere it has moderate coverage on the Cingular coverage map. I think as I travel and cross from one tower to the next, my phone can't find the next tower. I purchased an external antenna from Radio shack and get 5 bars all the time now right up until the network drops me. I'm looking at other networks at the moment.

I can get reception when high on a hill, but most of the area has no reception.
