Visited BC in Atchison Feb. 09 when we had Alltel and the reception was great. Then Alltel gets picked up by Verizon in our hometown, Rochester MN. When we took our son to BC this fall, no reception until we were about 5 miles out of Atchison, toward St. Joseph, MO. On the day we moved in I ran into 3 other families in our situation. I am sure there were more.. Back home, talked to manager Verizon and he tried a Hyrbrid PRL code to see if it would help reception, no luck. Keep calling Verizon to complain. They say they may know at the end of the year if the Atchison area will get coverage. Their map shows it is covered now!

Sorry, I messed it up. I was think of Verizon Wireless because my wife has it. I can't get anything in my house with AT&T. She gets full service on Verizon.

We just went with Verizon because our daughter will be going to college there next year. ZERO coverage! We have complained. They are hoping to get service. Hmmm... maybe they can get a sharing aggreement with ATT. Thats what everybody there says they have.

My phone is less than useless out here. It is often on roam, with as much as two whole bars (which last up to an astonishing 20 seconds). Most of the time it has zero coverage. I'm able to send text messages occasionally, but not make or recieve calls. If I want to make a call without it being dropped, I have to drive several miles out of town (towards 71st st on 135th w, or closer to Meridian on 103rd S)... absolutely NOT acceptable for a location so close to Wichita! I understand that ATT has just finished installing a new cell tower at the city dump, just SW of town. I'm considering switching carriers and see if I can actually use this stupid thing for anything other than an expensive paperweight.

T-Mobile reception in between Wichita and Newton has a dead spot and then within 5 miles east of Newton on First Street, the reception disappears once again. From the reviews, it looks like Alltel is no better.

Alltell assured me that I would have reception in Atchison. I interviewed for a job in December 08 and had good reception, got the job, moved in May of 09 and I have absolutely NO service whatsoever. They supposedly sent an engineer out to check the coverage in the area, from which I never heard back about. They finally had to let me out of my contract.

I have always had good reception in Atchison, KS but now since the merger with Verizon, I get no service at all. I understand that with a cell service that there will be dead spots. I am paying for nationwide service and am not able to get service in a place where I use to have service. I feel that something needs to be done to get this service back. Why should my service be jepordized by the merger. I pay my bills and have been a loyal paying customer for 7 years. Please get something taken care of.

I get no signal in my house. I roam all over. Service Sucks!

I cannot get T-Mobile to put up a tower or have access to a tower in a large area of this county. I had an emergency situation this past spring. Still no help.

we had great service in atchison ks. with Alltel. after the merger to Verizon in early 2009 we get no service period.
