I pay $120 / month for Sprint service and I have to go outside my house in order to get one bar (if I'm lucky) so that I can try to make a phone call. I can't wait until my contract expires in December so I can get AT&T service, which I have for my work phone, and which works great all over town.

There is zero reception in this entire town. I have been with Alltel / Verizon for 12 years now and I am a new teacher to the area and I am afraid that I am going to have to switch to a different carrier due to this issue.

Supposed to have best service in the area. However, we are constantly dropping calls all the time. Doesn't matter if we are on Ft. Leavenworth Post, home or driving around Leavenworth / Lansing. Horrible service. Switching to AT&T.

I have Verizon now, I have had T-mobile,sprint,I bought cellular one,and at&t,but could not get a signal to activate them-I sometimes will get a call at home but cannot get enough signal to answer the call,on very rare occasions I can make a call but will lose it before any conversation, All these phones are near worthless in belle Plaine. us cellular just put up a tower very near belle plaine,why,I dont know, but seems to make signal with Verizon even worse,I was verbally promised,DUH, that Verizon would have a tower in belle plaine by the end of 2009.I get no bars 95 % of the time,on occasion I have had one bar.most of the time,all I get is no service, my family has three different phones,they are all pathetic

Had GREAT reception everywhere I went when I was an Alltel customer. Like about everyone else from here to Atchison, the service is so spotty it's unusable unless you position yourself just right about 2 blocks away from here and DON"T MOVE. Even then you can watch the bars on the phone go from searching to full signal and back again within a few seconds. Usually the result is a dropped call. Typically, at home, I do not hear the phone ring, but will be notified of a vmail from a few minutes earlier. It is NOT POSSIBLE to have a clear conversation within a block of my home, and even then, it's mostly unlikely until I get to Hwy. 75. This is a top of the line smartphone and service with Verizon has turned it into little more than a pager that lets me know sometimes that I have a new voice mail or text within 3-60 minutes AFTER I've missed the call.

Reception is very poor on Hwy. 400 south of Pittsburg, KS all the way to Riverton, KS and poor in Overland Park, KS and between Arma, KS and Overland Park, KS.

Just went back down to Benendictine College in Atchison. NO BETTER with Verizon. NOTHING> BAD BAD. T-Mobile was mediocre. Worked outside and in some buildings But not two different Dormitories. We will be going with AT&T. Thats what everyone in town and on Campus says too. GOOD LUCK<

I would say out of a month I have 3 to 4 days of 1 bar reception.. the rest of the time I cant recieve or hold a call... I can text sometime but I have learned to use my computer for that so I dont even do that... I was told there was a new AT&T tower that was just installed on 110rd off of Hwy. 75, but this didnt help my service.. I have been with AT&T for a very long time and I hate that I cant use my cell phone at home... Please AT&T dont make me change providers turn up the volume and give me reception...

Visited BC in Atchison Feb. 09 when we had Alltel and the reception was great. Then Alltel gets picked up by Verizon in our hometown, Rochester MN. When we took our son to BC this fall, no reception until we were about 5 miles out of Atchison, toward St. Joseph, MO. On the day we moved in I ran into 3 other families in our situation. I am sure there were more.. Back home, talked to manager Verizon and he tried a Hyrbrid PRL code to see if it would help reception, no luck. Keep calling Verizon to complain. They say they may know at the end of the year if the Atchison area will get coverage. Their map shows it is covered now!

Sorry, I messed it up. I was think of Verizon Wireless because my wife has it. I can't get anything in my house with AT&T. She gets full service on Verizon.
