Don't get Nextel if you are primarily in this area. There is very little to no reception outside. There is NO reception inside buildings.

Nextel's cellular service has become increasingly poor in New Orleans. I don't know what alternative carrier to turn to since they all seem to especially suck in Louisiana. Nextel used to be okay up until two years ago; I'm not sure what happened? Many individuals choose not to go with Cingular because of the corporation's goat-screw tactics of the past. Cingular is out to monopolize the market; nevertheless, screw-over the world as it always has.

Terrible, have to go into parking lot to send and receive texts, calls always get dropped, worst reception ever! Seems to be a Lafayette thing, in Lake Charles I never had these issues... .

Sprint needs to expand. All I get is roaming here in Oil City, and they claim I should have coverage. The phone is amazing! I think the photon is by far the best phone out there, just dont get any coverage.

When I moved to this area in Jan. I was not planning on getting a land line. When we are in the house we cannot get any type of reception at all. If we walk outside we have very poor reception and often drop calls. It is very frustrating for us. Just like another post, I would hope that Sprint can evaluate this area to improve service.

No service with phone or air card for laptop. Was assured a $350 ZBoost outside antenna would fix the problem. Put antenna on 25 foot tower, and still no phone service and basically no signal for air card. I have both Verizon and AT&T cell phones for my job and they both get good signals even without the booster. The Verizon and AT&T both have full signals with the booster turned on. Looks like I will have to put out more cash for less service from one of the other carriers.

Have contacted Sprint and they have offered no help. Only place you can get reception is to drive out to the freeway or go into Denham Springs. Cell phone companies are missing out on a perfect opportunity for customers in this area.
