Like others, I opted for AT&T, cell tower contract with Cingular dies, Service Dies. Like an idiot, I renewed thinking the new 4 lane would get something - AT&T said that there wasn't enough income being generated to warrant bringing tower back on line. I get under the tower at Babe Ates road and by the time I reach Marler Ford, signal has gone from -65db to -108db, in less than 1 / 2 mile - when I reach home signal is -0db. Next Step is La Public Service Commission - this is a racket by AT&T, and they know they've got you over a barrel - If anyone asks me about AT&T / Cingular, I laugh and tell them what a Fool I've been, being taken in by the "Wireless" crooks... .
Service is really poor and there is no towers around this location; small tip from the rep (sweet girl) who was breaking her tongue trying to make a sell. Contract end in 2009 of Jan. I will switch providers just don't know with who. Customer service is just like the reception POOR. You’ll be lucky 1 out of 100,000 to get someone nice. I’m a customer since the 2000.
Very Poor and they said it is the tree line that caused the problem. I can go to completely covered area and get a good signal. We need a closer tower. I would be glad to lease a spot on my acreage maybe I could have a faster internet and a cell phone signal.

Starts getting poor between Hwy. 171 and my turn off on Clark Rd. headed north off of Hwy. 12. I called Cingular they said they checked and it was due to the tree line. Not so. I can go down by the creek at my house under tree coverage and get a good signal. I have even offered a spot on my property they could lease I have 40 acres available. Apparently those in remote areas are not important because I have talked to many people about this and our internet service. We are way behind the times. The signals are strongest where you are closest to help if needed.

Most of the time we have NO reception; other times very POOR reception. This whole area is like a dead zone since we are between two towers - according to AT&T. Alltel works great here though. My friends who have Alltell get good reception even indoors.
I have lived in new orleans for three years and originally had Nextel service, but due to the sorriest service I have ever experienced I decided after eleven years to break away. I have had other services for my personal use (nextel was always business) going on fourteen years it seems I have tried them all. So I switched to Sprint to try something totally different but being they had merged with Nextel they were exactly as sorry, and now that they have outsourced their support to India good luck on unstanding any phone conversation with either networks. Lets see... ... ... ... ... ..whos next?
