I am moving to Ruston LA in about 2 months. I have visited Ruston La 3 times. I decided to buy a house. I checked with the T-Mobile store and was told they have installed new towers. Yes they showed me the towers and the coverage area. I get there each time and the phone have no bars in this zip code area 71270. I went to Office Depot seeking help. I was told by them junk the phone it don't work here. Everyone uses AT&T. I am already paying quite much for service and internet on the blackberry 8100. Upon returning from my trip I visited the T-Mobile store and they suggested I try the hotspot at another $10.00 amonth to my phone bill. I call this a rip off! if you say your phone works in a area and it does not, you should supply the hotspot service for free!

I had Cing / AT&T with good reception (3 bars) in the house until Aug 07 and considered disconnecting land line phone. Service began to get worse until Jan 08, reception went to nothing and I had to drive 5 miles to even get a partial signal. Switched to Alltel and now have good service (2 - 3 bars) inside again.
South and North of I-20 Through Monroe and West Monroe there is no to very poor coverage in some very big areas. Roaming partners available but, seems to be no agreements. Why?

Hardly any to no reception. Cell phone goes straight to "no service" about a half mile after you cross the Beauregard Parish line headed south on Hwy. 171.

It in nearly impossible to get decent signal as soon as I pull into my subdivision. I have to go out into the driveway and wander around, hoping to find a ray of signal. It's HORRIBLE!! Several other areas around the country where I visit family the signal is so non-existent there's no point in even having a cell phone.
