Absolutly terrible. Have to go outside to use the phone, and even then most calls cut out after about two minutes. The Sprint store claimed that there was nothing wrong with the phone but told me I should still buy a new one with a two year contract. No thanks.
I live right off North Market and cannot make a call inside my house. I was very happy with AT&T until the merger. Service went way downhill after the merger. Calls dropped as many as 3 times in the same call, phone would loose network. I called customer service many times complaining about service and was told I needed to upgrade to a Cingular phone. I told them to upgrade me for free since I did not do anything wrong and they would not do anything to help me about the merger. I did find out that by upgrading to a new Cingular contract, the old contract was voided and I got out of the $350.00 charge for voiding my 2 phones. I then had 30 days to accept or reject my new contract. I was able to try out new phones and get out of the penalty by upgrading to a new contract. Of course I voided the new contract within teh 30 days and went with Alltel. I am now with Alltel and after just 1 day, I am happy with the sevice already. I got the Motorola V710 phone. I can make and receive calls inside my home and I travel north up into Arkansas regularily. I have service in areas that I never had before with AT&T or Cingular. ALLTEL IS THE WAY TO GO AROUND THIS AREA.
-Occasionally- you can get a single bar of reception, but I ended up have to manually switch my phone's network selection to pick up USA30, which I 'think' is Centennial. Horrible, horrible reception. One day, having not made or gotten any calls for a few days I heard my phone beep telling me I had voicemail. I checked my phone, and found I had 7 messages. No calls, no alerts even, up till that point. DO NOT USE CINGULAR IN ALEXANDRIA, LA.
There is NO reception in Starks even though Hwy. 12 is a very busy road both for commercial and private vehicles. Cingular has promised to put towers in this area for years, but still we have no reception. Wake up Cingular people around here are switching to Nextel.

Cingular continues to tumble into the toilet. At home it used to be decent, now on 80% of the days, you get a "No Service" message 50% of the time. Other areas that used to be good are the same. Cingular does not seem to be concerned and says that I am bound by the contract "which does not gauantee service". I have 3 phones, the same on all phones. Friends who come by have the same problem with Cingular. However, if they have another service they can sit in my living room and make and get calls with out a problem. Suggestion, any thing but cingular. Their adds are false.
