2 major rules... Don't buy an Ericssson K750I if you live in Louisiana. Don't use Cingular if you live in Louisiana. If you follow those 2 rules, you will have good reception... otherwise you are simply out of luck.
Little or no reception inside Harrah's and many buildings inside the CBD. Reception outside is great except at the convention center- always drop calls there.

No reception once you get off of Hwy. 90. All of Willowdale and Willowridge is a dead spot. Especially onthe golf course. I have Cingular but no other company that I know of works. There aren't any towers nearby
Dead spot on the spillway bridge - either I-10 or on Airline (61) Bridge. Restored once you get back onto land either in Norco or Montz / LaPlace-ish area.
Service is really poor and there is no towers around this location; small tip from the rep (sweet girl) who was breaking her tongue trying to make a sell. Contract end in 2009 of Jan. I will switch providers just don't know with who. Customer service is just like the reception POOR. You’ll be lucky 1 out of 100,000 to get someone nice. I’m a customer since the 2000.

The reception at my job sucks. My phone goes straight to voicemail when you call it and no text messages in or out. Total waste of a phone for 8 hours of my day when I need it the most.
Garden District / Uptown / Valence and Corondolet intersection, New Orleans, LA 70115

My phone never rings, yet I recieve voicemail messages that I cannot check. I never have coverage and rarely am graced with the privelidge of having a call connect. On occasions when my calls DO connect, they are dropped. I am paying way too much money to never be able to use my phone. It isn't just in the house, either. When I walk outside into the yard to try and get coverage or driving down St. Charles, it rarely works, either. I want to throw the phone away. Cingular is HORRIBLE! Don't do it!
Once you hop in almost any building, there will be no service. T-Mobile is rediculous for wasting my time. Been dealing with them for months now, I'm planning to file a complaint with the district court if they charge me for breaking my contract. Why advertise a service, when there is none?

Nextel's cellular service has become increasingly poor in New Orleans. I don't know what alternative carrier to turn to since they all seem to especially suck in Louisiana. Nextel used to be okay up until two years ago; I'm not sure what happened? Many individuals choose not to go with Cingular because of the corporation's goat-screw tactics of the past. Cingular is out to monopolize the market; nevertheless, screw-over the world as it always has.
In the middle of River Ridge(a highly populated city in Jefferson Parish, there is 0 reception. I actually get a no service text on my phone. Lasts from Sauve to Harahan East bound
