i would say that 90% of the time I have absolutely no signal at all. If you do happen to get a signal, it only last for a few minutes and is gone again. Terrible area for cell signal. I am searching for an phone company that has signal in this area...

I've been with Verizon for 12 years. I've lived in Pomfret, MD for 4. All 4 of these years we've had no reception. All 4 years we were told "It's your phone. Do *228. Upgrade your phone." Never worked. Then the other day "We are going to put a tower closer to you. Looks like you're in a dead zone" (uh, ya think?). "It should be up in 1 to 2 years." Oh, gee, not that long then. My contract is up, I tell them I'm going to AT&T. Then Verizon offers to have ME pay THEM $249 for a "network extender" and 1.99 a month +tax for the service. Um, WTF? I don't think so. Verizon, thanks for treating this loyal customer like crap.
I have Virgin Mobile service and get no reception at all in the Cumberland / Lavale area. As I go East toward Hancock / Hagerstown / Baltimore I get great coverage. Most of the people I know in the Cumberland / Frostburg area have US Cellular and have no problem at all.

There is no Sprint cell phone service in West Virginia, Maryland, Southeast Ohio, Southwest Pennsylvania. There are construction crews here building 200-miles of power transmission lines and everybody has Sprint / Nextel phones, but nobody has service. Sprint / Nextel is the best nationwide service, but Sprint needs to jump in to Maryland, West Virginia, Southeastern Ohio and Southwest Pennsylvania and build a system second to none.
I was with Sprint for several years and always got perfect reception in my office located on the second floor of the building. Even in our lab, located in a windowless basement I was able to use my phone. Now, having just switched to AT&T to be on the same plan as my husband, I get ZERO reception in my office and in the lab. That pretty much negates the benefit of the free calls between mine and my husband's phone since I cannot use my phone. If there are other people with AT&T service who would like to petition AT&T for better coverage, maybe we can individually call or do this as a group. Any ideas?

I was looking at others' reviews, but this area is a cell phone blackhole, dropping calls and barely resting at one bar at best. I have been in contact with T Mobile, who seem to be under the impression that there is "acceptable" reception in spite of the facts.

Verizon doesn't work at the house or anywhere nearby. Erratic reception along 213 with dead spots and dropped calls. They don't care either, just keep raising the fees for no service.

Signal drifts in enough to get email notifications. Can't make calls, can't check messages, can't send anything out. That is, of course, without connecting to anyone's 'free wifi' in the area. That usually cures the problem if I scan for something. Port Tobacco on south via Rt 6 - no signal. Rt 224 from Chicamuxon south - no signal.
