Scince Sprint took over Nextel, I can't get a signal anywhere in Catonsville. Frederick Rd, Edmonson Ave, Rt 40 and all roads in between are a "no signal" zone

Nextel's coverage is THE PITS, especially in northern Baltimore County and with the i710 model. I live in Upperco, and there is 'No Service' in my house and most of the tinme in my yard. The coverage is for the most part unacceptably bad, in my opinion, all around the Baltimore metro area. Approaching the heart of the city from the south (heading north on 95 and also I-395) nothing... the dreaded No Service screen. Areas of our beltway, especially on the southwest side, the same non-existent unavailable service. Dropped cals are the exception, not the norm. I had Cingular for 3 years and was at times frustrated, but nothing compares to what I am enduring with Nextel. I am probably switching to Sprint to avoid early termination. Take my advice if you live in the metro Baltimore area and avoid Nextel if at all possible.

A new tower was constructed in the area 6 months ago. Cingular started operating on the tower 4 months ago. Verizon still has nothing.

Varies from 0 to 1 bar. Same for Cingular. Both are GSM most likely same tower. The carrier coverage maps tell a different story. I like to see a carrier actually perform a signal strength survey and fix the problem. One the other hand using Sprint's EVDO has been very successful

There is no reception in my neighborhood anymore. This started about 6 weeks ago. Cingular cannot seem to explain it.

Pleasantville Rd. / Baldwin Mill Rd. intersection, Baldwin, MD 21013 Sat Jun 17, 2006

No Reception in Gunpowder State Park, especially at the bridge on Pleasantville Rd and north to Laurel Brook Rd. However the good news is Cingular is negotiating a stealth tower to correct this problem in the near future.
