After months of arguing with them, pleading, begging they have finally let me out of my contract as we have ZERO reception at our house-or neighborhood. We were locked into a contract when we moved here, but we're free at last!

I've been with Verizon for 12 years. I've lived in Pomfret, MD for 4. All 4 of these years we've had no reception. All 4 years we were told "It's your phone. Do *228. Upgrade your phone." Never worked. Then the other day "We are going to put a tower closer to you. Looks like you're in a dead zone" (uh, ya think?). "It should be up in 1 to 2 years." Oh, gee, not that long then. My contract is up, I tell them I'm going to AT&T. Then Verizon offers to have ME pay THEM $249 for a "network extender" and 1.99 a month +tax for the service. Um, WTF? I don't think so. Verizon, thanks for treating this loyal customer like crap.

For the past 4 years, I had excellent reception. Since the middle of February 2007, there has been no reception at all. I called Cingular customer service and all they want to do is to sell me their GSM service. They don't seem to care about their old loyal customers.

You're better off with Verizon if you go south of PAX River NAS in Southern Maryland. They're lucky to have lights and running water down here. Septic backs up every time it rains. Don't forget to fill up the gas tank, you won't much of it also.

A new tower was constructed in the area 6 months ago. Cingular started operating on the tower 4 months ago. Verizon still has nothing.

No reception at all. AT&T seems to not want me to connect to the local verizon tower even though my plan allows for it.

Virgin Said they have coverage in the Area but its not true in reality. You have one spot where you might get a single bar, if you are lucky.

Alltel does not support this area at all and even though they were purchased by Verizon you do not get the benefit of Verizon's towers or tower updating that Verizon users receive. You are considered "roaming". Your phone is useless yet Alltel holds you to the Alltel contract even though Verizon and Alltel are now one and the same. Terrible!

Nextel has the worst service in the D.C. metro area. Just about everywhere I go my calls are always dropping. Sometimes i'm timid to use my phone just because I know my call is going to drop. I should not feel this way. In conclusion, don't give Nextel your money! !
