Upton is well known as a dead zone for most carriers. Nextel has some coverage but spotty.

None inside the house (my old cell phone was just fine inside)_. One bar way outside the house and messages coming in several hours after they were received.

ATT... the worst... never connected. Always said "Network Unavailable". Sent the thing back. Worst service ever. Never had an issue with Virgin Mobil or PagePlus (Sprint)... but their support is crap. Doesn't anyone make a decent phone with decent connection and decent support???

Inverness Lane, Longmeadow, MA 01106 Mon Jun 06, 2011

I've always had instances of spotty reception and service in parts of Longmeadow, but ever since the Tornados, absolutely no reception in / around my house. Ironically, my son lives in Longmeadow and is much closer to the Springfield border than I am and he is not having any issues with his iPhone or his wife's. Traveling 10 miles away yesterday in Feeding Hills, reception ranged from 1 bar to 4 bars to Searching and then No Service. Service is on and off and on the apple web site they said it might be a bad "sim" card inside the phone.

no bars at my house, yard or driveway - that means no text, no calls no vmail access for my home based business. Support said get a new SIM card - so I did. No change. Support then said they'd send someone out to climb the closest tower and check signal. No change.

Says NO SERVICE in the house where I just rented a room. Event when I try to connect my iphone through WIFI, I cannot make a call or receive calls. I am shocked that an affluent and educated town 7 miles from Boston has no reception for Apple smartphone using ATT! This is serious for me, as I am a consultant and use my phone and computer at the same time. I will have to get Skype when my ATT contract ends June 25th. No more smartphone!

Just got my new Droid, and was switching from AT$T to Verizon. There is not enough reception for me to make the call to activate service. Guess I am throwing my new Verizon phone away.
