Little to no reception in Great Barrington outside of the main part of downtown Great Barrington. One would think that there would be strong cell phone signals all along Route 7, a major thoroughfare for North - South traffice through the Berkshires, from Sheffield to Pittsfield, and well used connecting roads East - West such as Monument Valley Road.

Moved from O and 1st St.had great reception there nothing here. Yet Verizon, Metro PCS and Tracfones work here. To make a call you have to stand in the middle of the street. Can't wait to get rid of AT&T.

Station St. / Grove intersection, Upton, MA 01568 Sat Aug 21, 2010

Upton is notorious for lousy cell service with most carriers. Nextel has some coverage but it is not that great. Attempts have been made to put more towers in the town but the local bylaws seem to drive the companies away or tie them up so long in zoning reviews that they withdraw the applications. It just does not make sense when the town has so much undeveloped space where a tower would go unnoticed. God forbid we put a tower on a big ugly water tank and improve service while bringing in some much needed revenue for the town. Come on! I now use a Verizon Network Extender via my high speed internet to get coverage in the house. It works pretty good.

Was very choppy connection for the past six months and now for the past few days I get NO RECEPTION. AT&T does not have any consistent service in Blandford. Time to go back to a land line.

Hanover St., Boston, MA 02113 Sat Aug 14, 2010

My apartment and the North End is a complete dead zone for Verizon. I only have cell service in one place in my apartment and that is the bathroom standing over the sink. I can't even receive texts if my phone is not in the bathroom. Sometimes I will use SKYPE instead of my cell phone and I've even considered getting a landline. If you are walking down Hanover Street, you will most certainly lose calls.

Cell coverage is terrible. I eithr hva 1 bar or none. If a call does come through, it will usually drop off within the first minute. When I get a call on my cell, I tell them immeditly to call me back on my home phone. How embarrassingi can that be for Verizon Wireless ? Reading all the negative coverage reviews for this area, I don't see why they don't just add a tower.
