Verizon has poor to no coverage on Grand Lake and Long lake in Alpena and Presque Isle county's. When you call to complain they try to say it is your phone that is the problem. They had me re-program my phone over the air about six times, that actually caused my phone to not recognize my network extender once. Then they had me go to a Verizon store to have my software updated on the phone, that actually made it worse. The real reason is they do not have cell site coverage. That is what I hope they would realize, but to no avail.

No 3 G in this area. We're disappointed because we really wanted an iPad with 3G coverage. The map says that Grant should receive good wireless coverage from AT&T

Another prior Alltel customer that has never had signal issues. Now that Verizon purchased the smaller Alltel, they have done away with any sort of reception in rural america. Nice job Verizon!

One of the most desolate stretches of road in the UP of Michigan, and nothing but tall jack pines on either side of you. No wonder there is no reception in this area. Verizon isn't the only one. I haven't had any phone get reception in this area with any provider. Pray you don't break down or hit one of the thousands of deer roaming the forests along this 34 mile stretch of dead zone.

Until November 11, 2009 my neighbors and I all had excellent Verizon service at our homes. On November 11th everything changed and now we have absolutely NO SERVICE! Verizon representatives are of no assistance at all, claiming we are all of a sudden in a "marginal zone". WE DIDN'T MOVE, VERIZON! YOU DID! We'll be cancelling our contract this week.

I-196 / US-31 intersection, Holland, MI 49423 Thu Dec 17, 2009

Since Verizon took over Alltel, the service as I drive near Holland on I-196 from mile markers 40-46 are terrible, nearly always a lost call or just terrible, unusable wireless service from my blackberry curve. I am getting a new wireless provider for this and the terrible service we get from Verizon to date (Alltel was much better service for our company).

I live on Warner Rd apx.3 mile north of Jefferson Rd Reception is in and out outside and almost never inside. I would hate to have to use this phone to call for emergency help. Sad to say Alltell seems to have the best service of all here with no inprovement in sight. I use this phone only when away from home where it works great.
