While in the campground, there is no service at all due to being in a valley and surrounded by trees, but when we leave the campground looking for a cell to appear, we have to be almost in Alpena before there are enough bars to use it. The only ones that do work are the analog's. If I didn't have family to check on while away, it wouldn't be so troubling. Something needs to be done to improve the cell service.

Cannot receive or place calls from home.

Service has been bad for a while. Tired of hearing Cingular support telling us to turn our phones off and on for better reception. Every time I call them they say they are in the process of upgrading and I should have better service in a month or so. I've been hearing it for at least six months. Phone will have 3 bars, but when I dial out it drops to 1 or 0 bars. I get more dropped calls from Cingular than any other company I have ever used. Their commercial about the fewest dropped calls makes me want to throw my cell phone through the TV set. Looking for new carrier now.

No coverage on major 4 lane US highway!

A new tower went up here at the end of May and now there is no signal. I don't know who owns the tower but it has really messed up service within about a 8 mile radius.

Could not receive calls outside hear. Heard it may have to do with the disney Radio towers. Verizon does not Care

I gave my parents my Nextel phones and I switched to sprint, no service with sprint, but my parents and Nextel have full service up in the woods here.

any reception in hubbell is an anomaly and probably wont last. dont even try to call from hubbell.

Totally dies as soon as you Get to the Knollwood Subdivision on the Indiana Side of Line - FACT within about a 3 mile radius of Redfield Rd.and Gumwood - there is no reception whatsoever! - I got rid of Sprint service and their phone. Got a T-Mobile Samsung x495 in March of 2006. Now I only have to go within a TWO mile radius to get reception. FACT: - Milton Township is the area of Michigan where the problem is. The township board runs the town with self-fufilling reasons - they do not care about the residents except their group of 4-6 people. There is no DSL or high-speed internet service either. T-Mobile wants to put a tower right in the middle of the township and they refuse to allow it eventhough the owner of the land and T-Mobile met 25 of 26 ordinances required for a variance to build it. Milton Township denied the variance because the site was 2 miles from another tower. I understand T-Mobile is taking this to the Federal Courts for a Reversal of the township Denial. FACT: Within the next three years there are over 300 family homes projected to be built in this very area -and- a new 4 lane highway going straight from Gumwood to U.S. 12 as well - how would like you to live in this area and get NO CELL COVERAGE OR DLS SERVICE. I don't think so. I might also mention this exact intersection (Gumwood Rd.and Redfield Road) is the Heaviest traveled intersection in all of Cass County Michigan. Traffic fatalities have occurred in this area that might have been avoided if the ambulances could have been called with cell phones and gotten there sooner. There is an absolute need for a Tower in this area - now.

I live on the island / Murray Lake and my reception stops around St. Pats church. At the Murray Lake and Murray view intersection, I get reception and can talk on 2 bars there... .but if I breathe wrong it goes away. Once I am on the island... no reception whatsoever. It is very frustrating to not be able to use my phone in my home... which it sounds like I am not alone. I swear, every other person I know can use a cell at my house but me. Now that is not funny! Trouble is... I like the Alltel plan I have, so I am not willing to change it at this point (regardless if I have another year and a half contract!) I hope that we can all find what we are looking for someday!
