General area of Charlevoix with Alltel service is horrible. Drops calls regularly everywhere. Large buildings are problems. Just about every sort of obstruction interrupts signal. I have been a customer for 12 years and will drop them at contract end.

I live near Morross and Mack. I have no service at my house or along Mack from 8 mile to Cadieux. I also have no service in Algonac and in St. Clair. This new phone was suppose to correct my reception problems. It didn't.

This provider / phone has terrible reception in the Ypsilanti Area. Even if you have a 2-3 bars as soon as you make or get a call your reception drops to nearly zero. It get's spotty reception in Ann Arbor and zero at the WCC campus.

I have no problem near my home in Warren, Mi or in Kentucky or even Washington D.C.! But once I get to 21 Mile Rd. (near I-94 by Gratiot and Jefferson) I have absolutely no reception whatsoever. Another thing that bothers me is when I am in a store, building, or restaurant in the metropolitan area there is also no reception. I've heard most companies are worse though, so I have stuck with T-Mobile for approximately 6 years. The customer service was great (until I had to speak to India - where they have trasferred). Still they are quick to help or replace a cell phone. I just wish they could do better north of 21 Mile (upper north - i.e. Caseville included).

I was fooled by the T-Mobile dealer as they said that T-Mobile was better than AT&T, but they were wrong! I got fair signals in Mosher Jordan 5th floor in my room, but not in the kitchen. Absolutely no signals on 1st floor nor in Stockwell, although the signal light is flashing green with one bar. I'm so disappointed with them.

Half of the time we get no bars. We get 1 bar max with AT&T but it usually roams to Cingular with 1 bar. Also frequently get "SOS Only" or "Emergency Only." Phone will be going back shortly.

My reception was fine for over 5 years. About 2 months ago I start receiving complaints from family that my phone was "turned off", etc. when in fact the phone was on and showed minimal signal strength. Now from 12 noon to about 8 pm I cannot receive any calls but can make some occasionally. Cingular told me it was my old analog phone so I transferred my number to a new Samsung SGH-X427 from Cingular. I tried to activate it by phone with customer service and it wouldn't work. I had to drive into Port Huron and have the store activate it. Great reception near Lake Huron and the St. Clair River. As I drove to my home 15 miles SW of Port Huron, the reception declined to zero! Now I do not even have a phone that works part time! If I am lucky I can receive a call if I am standing in the center of my front lawn. Tomorrow I am sending the phone back and reactivating my old analog phone! I really believe this is a recently engineered "dead zone"! No cell phone service can work fine in an area for several years and then drop off to nothing!

Prospect / Clark intersection, Ypsilanti, MI 48198 Fri Jun 18, 2004

I have never had luck with cell phone reception in the NE Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti area. First I had issues with Verizon, now I'm having trouble with T-Mobile. I don't know what the deal is with this area. Everyone I know says they have trouble in this area... calls don't ring through, calls are dropped, all the normal BS.
