I get absolutely no recepton in my apartment or outside, until I walk up to Plymouth Rd. The T-Mobile technician said enhancements are scheduled for the tower possibly in the next three months, until then I can't use my phone. T-Mobile has been unwilling to negotiate or let me out of the contract even though I don't have service. They just cycle me through their rude customer service representatives. I've checked Cingular service in my apartment and it gets six bars in our apartment. I'll probably switch to Cingular, since I get no signal with T-mobile.

5 Mile / Newburgh intersection, Livonia, MI 48154 |

Reception was fine 15 months ago when I switched to Verizon. Now I get poor or no reception on 5 Mile between about Merriman to Newburgh. Also no reception in the 9 Mile and Taft area. The service tech at Verizon in Westland was rude and patronizing, actually telling me to be quiet and listen when I tried to ask a question while he was giving me my options. Since he got fine reception at their location he said he couldn't find a prob with my phone but offered to let me replace it for $50! Opted not to take that option since the phone was free in the first place and because he couldn't find anything wrong with the one I had. He said the problem couldn't be with their network if I previously had reception in the areas I was having having trouble with now. Can't wait to switch when this contract is up. In the meantime I'm telling everyone I know about the bad reception and the rude treatment by their tech.

You can get service up on U.S. 23 but as soon as you are down near Lake Huron, there is no service. Thought it would get better with the sharing of towers, but so far have to rely on land phone.

No reception almost ever. Once in a great while we get a weak (one bar) signal and can make out half of what is being said by someone calling me. I cannot make a call out ever.

I get no reception at my house with any cell company. I've had Alltel (which stunk) and now have Nextel because they said there would be good reception because of the proximity to the race track. (within the radius Nextel has required) but still no signal at our house. I don't think I'll ever get a cell that will work at my house so I can stop using my land line. Even my friends dread coming to my house because their companies do not work out here either.

It appears that no one regardless of their service provider gets any service in this area, and it extends all the way from M25 to M19. Everyone calls this the dead zone period. If you are talking on the phone when you hit this area you automatically tell the person I'll call back when I leave the dead zone and you hang up. My understanding is this area belongs to Thumb Celluar, I dont know why they dont do something about it.

Where are the cell towers? As a summer resident of Port Sanilac, I, too would like to have service in this area. My old analog worked fine; no reception on my new digital.

I have used other cell phone companies in the Alpena-Harrisville area and find that Alltel has the most coverage. There is a tower about 2 miles away up on a hill but I still cannot get a signal at my house. I live in a black hole and friends with other services cannot get calls. What gives with the cell phone companies, not enough people here to sell phones to?
