Over three weeks ago I stopped getting service in my home and have been contacting Cingular regularly and their answer is they are integrating the tower in my area. I have used AT&T for about 5 years now all of a sudden no service. One of my calls to them got a sales pitch to "upgrade to Cingular" of course when I asked them if I kept my 800 minutes that I have accumulated over the years their answer was NO I would have to sign a NEW contract, more money less minutes! So as far as I am concerned this is a scam to make former AT&T customers pay for the upgrades (?) to the towers. When my daughter, who has Cingular, comes to the house guess what --her phone doesn't work either. I have filed a complaint with the FCC and also joined a class action law suit through "Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights". I am in Clay Township and have to go about a mile to get service--maybe. Thanks, Don

Bought our phones in Romeo... .works there... .got home, can't use them in our kitchen! Very disappointed! Might switch soon to Verizon! Nextel friends can't call from our home either! HELP!

I currently have Cingular, but have also had Verizon. My neighbors have Nextel. This area is dead as far as reception is concerned. I do get an occassional "blip" of service that allows me to get a call off or check voicemail. My previous Verizon service and neighbors' Nextel is the same. I am trying to find out what company has the cellular tower on Wildcat Rd. south of Burtch Rd.

Worthless and Pointless!

Bought 4 of these phones from Cingular based on their coverage map (showing my home address in the "Best" area for reception). 3 out of the 4 phones at any given time will not work near my home. When I called Cingular, I was told that I was in a "Poor" service area according to their "internal" maps. I was told there are towers being integrated as we speak but their is no ETA. Now I'm locked into this miserable situation for 2 years unless I want to pay mega bucks to early terminate. I'd say what Cingular is doing is pretty darn close to FRAUD. They post one map to sell the product and then have "internal" maps to explain away their deficiencies.

Between Hayes and Romeo Plank, there is NO reception period on any phone I have had.

I can not get any reception at home, or most other places around here. I have had my sims card updated and heard every excuse in the book. I want to switch to another carrier, however; the responses from others on this page seem to suggest that the entire area is bad for all carriers.

Always no reception in this area, changed plan and got new phones and exactly the same. Calls anywhere north of M59 last about 30 seconds’ tops. They pulled the old sim card out of the old phone, maybe the reason why... Gong back to Cingular to make them replace the sim cards with new ones. Also had billing problem for 14 months, Cingular added $7 a month to my bill for a 7 / 7 plan? Two extra hours in the evening unlimited. Well we caught the error, spent 3 hours debating the problem. First rep. only offered a $60 credit, called back and argued with another rep for an hour. Results $168 removed from my bill, next 2 months 1 / 2 off. DON'T settle for one reps B / S. If you unsatisfied call back and demand satisfaction. If you're firm and ask what’s Cingular going to do for me now, they'll give in.

Half of the time we get no bars. We get 1 bar max with AT&T but it usually roams to Cingular with 1 bar. Also frequently get "SOS Only" or "Emergency Only." Phone will be going back shortly.

I have no service inside the house most of the time, and barely service outside the house. I assume it is because of so many trees and being close to the water, but service should not be that bad. I did have better signal with Verizon than I did with AT&T. At the intersection of Crocker and Metro Pkwy. I have 5 bars, but at most 2 bars on my street.
