I am amazed at the reality that I can lose all signal in a major metropolitan city like minneapolis mn. I recenly discovered that there is still areas in the city still dont have service
There has always been a 1 / 2 mile oval in Edina MN with little or no 1900mhz service so Sprint, Verizon, etc don't work. 800mhz T-Mobile works but doesn't have data / pict features. Even analog is poor or non-existant. Right in an area of 100's of multi-million $ homes in middle of highly served metro area. WHY??
No GSM reception, No TDMA / Analog reception ( I have several Cingular phones) either on the lake, or shoreline residences. Daughter has a Sprint Samsung 400 phone, with no reception at our residence on the lake shore, or on the lake itself. I have had utility guys out to the house with Midwest Wireless that seem to get a little better coverage. This is a shame, because there is a population of nearly 1K people along this lake, most of which have spotty reception if any. I also have noticed that areas on county 12 between Oronoco and the lake that were in my home TDMA area now are roaming (at $1 per minute on my plan)! That change happened last year, just before the new tower north of Oronoco went up.

Cingular has NO service in Barnesville now. My phone worked nearly perfectly in August (thanks to T-Mobile towers I'm told by Cingular). My phone was useless in October. What's going on? I have to drive to Hwy. 94 to pick up a signal. Even my messages are delayed. And Cingular won't adjust my bill even though I had lousy service for two weeks.
this gets better and better! I wrote in may that my cellular one reception was terrible out here. then, last month I got my phone bill telling me my rate would go up $5 because I didn't have a 'better' phone. (i.e. newer). so, I drove three hours to the cellular one store, got a new phone, came home and... ..ta da! got worse reception! I now have to drive 30 miles to get a signal. another six hours on the road to return this turkey. and, I will still have to pay the $5 a month. ps. I stopped at a T-Mobile store to see what they had and they admitted that they use cellular one towers. no help there.
