I live on Torbert Dr.in West Point and DO NOT get reception inside my house, outside my house, or otherwise from my house to Eshman Ave. then North up Eshman about at Hwy. 50, I may get 3 bars then. I finally get bars at Oak Hill Academy. Cingular is rediculous, but I can't pay the cancellation fee for a new phone service.
With Cingular Wireless, once you cross the long bridge at West Side Vet Clinic on Hwy. 50 West you have no more coverage. I live approx. 18 miles from West Point, Starkville, Houston, and once I leave WP I am out of luck. All my neighbors have cell phones, most with Cingular, but none of us can use them in our rural area. They are only good once you are close to or in one of the local towns. Why have a cell phone if you can't use it? We definitely need more towers in the rural areas.

Each time that I have been out there to visit I had no service. Each time I was told that Cingular was putting in towers. I renewed my contract and upgraded my phone in April because I knew that I was going to visit there. I was hoping that my Razor was definitely going to be great out there since the sales person assured me that I would definite have service in the area now since the upgraded towers. I was there in July after being told that the area was covered as of June 30, 2006. No service. I phoned Cingular and they tried setting me up at various towers. No service. I was told by Cingular to get into my car and drive toward town until I could reach 3 bars, turn my phone off, and power back on. That worked as long as I stayed in town where there was a close tower. For the past couple of days 9 / 25, 9 / 26 / 06 I been trying to get the tech dept to tell if I will have service on my next visit in Nov. I was told that "there info shows that towers are upgraded and I should get great service on my next visit. " However they claimed they have no way of telling me when and what date these upgrades took place. According to the Team Leader there is no one who could tell me what their field staff has been doing for the past few months.
