I have no reception on Firetower Rd. Or on Vidalia. (Went to Laurel, MS last weekend and had no bars there either! Had to borrow someone's phone who had Cellular.) No reception in my own home.
From Port Hudson, LA going up Hiway 61 North, through St. Francisville, LA, Woodville, MS into Natchez, MS and back, I had zero service. Pretty pitiful.
Good(4 bars) as long as in West Point. Leave WP going East to Columbus or West on Hwy. 50 and gate a couple miles from WP and lose signal. Cingular needs to add towers in the area as they are not the all over network they claim.
I'm a truck driver by trade, and drive from Birmingham, AL to Brandon, MS everyday, Monday through Friday. I get great reception right up to the west side of Tuscaloosa, AL, and a little beyond, but then my reception degrades to 1 bar... and I cannot receive or initiate a call. When I get into the Brandon, MS area, I have 4 bars of reception... but still can't use the phone! I have a national plan, and hadn't experienced that type of difficulty anywhere else with this plan and with this phone. It's my understanding that Verizon is expanding to Jackson, MS, and should have cells operational there soon, but what about on the interstate as I travel over? I only have a few months left on my contract, and will be switching to a provider that has a good phone and good coverage from Birmingham all the way to Jackson... as well as offering a phone with good quality reception. All that optional crap is nice, but in the end, I just want a phone that works.

SPRINT PCS claims to be the vig player in Mississippi, but their service is less than 6 / 10 of a watt per foot over line of sight! Finally, I had to drop this company, although it will cost me $150.00 to do so, it is called: "CUTTING MY LOSSES"
We get no reception at all at our home, 5 to 10 miles out of West Point. It is useless to even have it on outside of West Point, all it does is waste battery power. We had the same problem with Cellular South, which is the only reason we switched to Cingular.
