Absolutely NO service the whole weekend we were on our float trip. Everyone else who had coverage was with Verizon. I go on a lot float / camping trips in this area of Missouri (the sticks!) and it would be real nice to be able to make and receive calls and texts like everyone else. I'm seriously thinking about switching to Verizon!

I have a family plan with T-Mobile, thus 3 differenct phones. T-Mobile's coverage map shows that coverage is available for Lebanon, MO. I live maybe 2 miles from a major interstate and in the city limits. All our cell phones say "Emergency calls only" and most of the time we cannot make a call. We can make a call sometimes if we walk around the house and repeatedly dial and then usually don't get through the call without being dropped. Sometimes incoming calls will go through and then will drop eventually. Since September 2010, T-Mobile has said they are improving their towers. Apparently, this is the line employees are told to say to customers. A coworker was told the same thing for the length of her 2 year contract. There is no recourse unless I want buy out my 2 year contact. Stay away from T-Mobile in Missouri. Or, T-Mobile suggested buying a new phone from them to see if that would help.

ATT is putting up a new cell tower for this area; They started on it back in Dec. 2010. It's now going into May 2011. If this is their idea of building up their network, it will take them until 2013 to play catchup with their competitors. How long does it take to install / setup a cell tower anyway?? Evidently I should have got into telecommunications for job security.

I get reception at home, but I live on a hill. Down in Steelville proper, along Hwy. 8 / 19, there is no reception at all. My wife doesn't even bother turning her cell phone on. We'll probably switch to AT&T, which actually reaches here.

I get no reception in or around my house. I just bought this phone last night and I'm already pissed. It works great everywhere in Independence where I work and I am 85% of the time. But as soon as I go home, NOTHING! We're a strictly cellphone house too... ..
