I have an old NOKIA 6160m PCS with an awesome plan and great coverage from inside my house. My wife has the Nokia 3395 from Cingular, with "No Service" displayed on the screen. Cingular (AT&T) is shutting off my PCS band and has offered me no plans that even come close to my current PCS plan, and wants me to downgrade to GSM. I have emailed AT&T and called 611 to complain. The answer I got was, "Go Outside". That's fine until the temperatures are in the 20 degree range, then your lips don't work too well. After months of frustration (I have been a PCS customer with AT&T for 10 years) and being ignored and forced to switch, I cut AT&T. I switched to Verizon (even got a phone with Analog AMPS for my travels on 395 or I-5). Both phones work inside the house, although my signal strength is not as good as PCS phone, we don't drop calls. Traveling to Lake Tahoe? Leave the GSM phone at home! Verizon also works on I-80 between Truckee and Nevada State Border (dead zone right near the border). Cingular GSM and PCS would not work on this side of Truckee!

Can't make or recieve call at or around my house. My wife either. Service has never been good. I just can't wait till 6 / 14 / 07 till my contract is up and I can go to Verizon...
Unless you have GSM (that was Cingular's excuse)forget about having reception in Ely NV. Older phones are useless until you are 5 miles West of town on the Loneliest highway of America. This is quite disconcerting when the rest of the state lets you make calls.

No coverage in W Plumb / Hunter Lake neighborhood. Also on Mt Rose Hwy. just above Raleys, and on N McCarren near WalMart. Other than that, good coverage overall all around town, though occassional dropped calls. Sometimes doesn't work in commercial bldgs. Long waits for customer service.
4 months into the service and three hospital visits later I find myself wanting to run from Cingular. Ever since I went with Cingular I have had the worst service ever. This resulted into 1 major heart attack due to hypertension (High blood pressure). The second time my phone service dropped a call during a important business call. My stomach ulcer started to bleed profusely and I landed in the ER rom again. Ironically, Cingular has offered to pay for some of the medical expenses inccured since my start of the service. That must mean they know about the dangerous health effects of the service they offer. So at this point I decided to give them another chance. I was in my car on I-15 and Flamingo and I was on the phone with my divorce lawyer and we were going over the payouts for my divorce. Then the phone dropped the call. The lawyer thought I hung up on him because I didnt like the deal. Now my ex-wife has the kids, the house, the car and the dog. I'm now suffering from acute depression and now have been admitted to St. Judes Mental Health Division of Psychiatrics and Illness. THANKS CINGULAR!
