The AT and T website shows cellular reception in this area as "Good". Don't know how they test this, because almost everywhere I've been in New London has next to no service (mostly no service). The same is true of the other carriers who claim to provide coverage to this area... .. And it seems to be worse now than a few years ago. So much for progress... .

Never mind making calls, can't even get enough service to send a text message. Indoors or outdoors, doesn't matter. Absolutely horrendous.

Since my comment on Feb 8 about no signal with my Safelink Wireless Tracfone, Tracfone finally gave me an AT&T SIMM card, so I'm on AT&T's network rather than T-Mobile's. I've have good reception in Penacook and Boscawen ever since. But I'm in the process of moving to CANTERBURY right next to the school and across the street from the Municipal Building. DEAD ZONE! My Safelink Wireless Tracfone has absolutely NO service even with the AT&T SIMM. A US Cellular Motorola Razer3 shows one bar and will make a call back to Penacook, but it uses a lot of battery charge and is showing as roaming. I guess I can look forward to many more hours on the telephone with Safelink and Tracfone trying to get service in Canterbury. With all the obscenely wealthy people in this town, you'd think we could afford a cell tower :o)

About 2 yrs ago the ATT towers were ugraded to 3G vs edge and 3G coverage has a longer coverage reach. So my phone on Ash Swamp went from 0-1 bar on edge to 4+ on 3G. The pathethetic part is that Downtown is stil a zero coverage zone and I called ATT and still no plans to fix it.

Greetings fellow celluar customers. We live on North Road, Salisbury New Hampshire. for the past 9 years we've continually tried to get any celluar company to site new communication towers do to the severe topography of the landscape and the Line of site needed for good to excellent celluar and other wireless signals. Finally, after many years of beating the bushes, we found a Verizon Wireless Technical service representative that actually cared about customers needs and tried to find a way to help. The final Answer that we receieved from Verizon Wireless is that we live in a celluar dead spot where the "serving cells" are anywhere's from 5 to 7 miles from us and that only means that the cellular sites are also much higher above sea level than we are also. needless to say, ONLY on Cloudy days do we have any luck to talk on on wireless equipment without having the calls immediately dropped or not able to make them at all like on clear days. When we're able to talk, we have only the first small bar and that fades in and out to no bars and calls are forever dropped. Needless to say, this happens with all cellular carriers in our area.

Record length for a call so far is 10 minutes 3 seconds. Verizon is absolutely dreadfull! Undoubtedly the worst provider I have ever used.

Must go to the top of the hill past the Canaan Center store where it becomes Canaan St. to get any reception at all. Daughter comes to visit from MA. and must walk up to top of hill to use phone. I don't own a cellphone, as we have no reception here.
