If you want a cell phone that drops you to zero signal all over the surrounding area of Montgomery and Hillsborough, then get T Mobile. But if you want reliable service try Verizon or Sprint.

T Mobile is the biggest waste of your time if you live in the Hillsborough area! There are numerous places in town you get ZERO reception! Don't waste your hard earned $$$. Their Customer Care Department is not helpful at all... all they kept telling me was "Thank you for choosing T Mobile" after I had gone through my tirade of disatisfactory complaints. And then they went on to offer other T Mobile features to me! Trust me, T Mobile isn't listening, folks.

There may be a T Mobile store in the shopping mall by Kohl's (right down the street)... but, a word to the wise: what they don't tell you in the store when they are so eager to sign you up for a plan is that T Mobile states on their website that Hillsborough is a "marginal signal coverage area". They also tell you this if you call customer service after you have picked a phone, paid for the plan only to find you can't get reception in many places in Hillsborough, that calls get dropped and sound quality is poor. The T Mobile representative at the Hillsborough store told me that it was my phone... even though I flat out asked him if it could be T Mobile service. So, I gave it another try and picked another phone. When I called the store to tell them I stilll was not getting reception in Hillsborough, the representative said (quote): "Oh, yeah, it's the service. Sorry." Sure, you can return everything within the 14 days after purchasing the plan, but why waste your time with inconvenience and frustration? I asked everyone in town I could fiind with a cell phone that I saw actually being used. They said the same thing: they've tried the other carriers, and Verizon is the only one that has great coverage in this area of Somerset County. Stay away from T Mobile!

Apparently, Cingular sends software updates that help with the location and enhancement to their network of cell towers. Or at least thats what they've told me! When I first got my phone there was some reception at home, but since one of these brilliant updates have now lost this entirely. Customer service (or lack thereof) tells me this is impossible, I have invited them to come and try, is absolutely hopeless. I switched from T-Mobile (no service in Oak Ridge) and have come to regret it. The latest genius at Cingular has told me "well what do you expect with a Motorola the Nokia is a much better phone". Oh well!

I live in Whiting (Fox Hollow section of Roosevelt City). I get 4 bars on the top of a local hill (accessible only by fire road) but 0 in my home and a very spotty 1 bar signal in various areas of my property and neighborhood. I lose signal entirely until I get into town and coverage moving west on 70 and northwest on 539 in pretty dismal. Generally speaking, I am unhappy with T-Mobile. I travel quite a bit around central and South Jersey and I'm always hitting dead zones. Cingular users get reception in my home. I have not tried others.
