0 to 1 bar in that area, all T Mobile phones "search for service" there and in other areas of Mahwah, Glen Rock and into as far as Pennsylvania. If you go a mile up the road from that intersection you get 3 to 4 bars, typical of T Mobile but they've gotten much better over the years ranking 2nd behind Verizon. Verizon with the right phone almost always works, problem is they know it and give less minutes than all other carriers until a recent plan with 1000 anytime plus free nights and weekends. My 2 cents for whatever it's worth. T Mobile is decent, I would only recomend it on a family plan, it isn't worth it otherwise. On Verizon, don't ever go with the 2 year plan, pay the 20 dollars extra for the phone for a 1 year plan or you're stuck.

No reception at home, but sometimes (emphasis on sometimes) I can get signal across the street. Elsewhere, call drops and no signal are common. T-Mobile's 3000 whenever minutes are cheap, but hard to use. It's not "Talk all you want", it's more like "Talk all yoi can..."

Horrible absolutley horrible. I just recently purchased a Verizon cell phone because everyone always raved about the reception. I even purchased one of the newest and most expensive thinking it would help me. What I find is I have had worst reception with this phone then even my previous T-Mobile which is supposedly the worst on the mareket. This Verizon phone does not work in my house I have to stand in the middle of the road even T-Mobile I can at least go near a window and it worked. I also work in the Ocean County Mall and I see people always talking on there phones well guess what. I'm not one of those people it hardly works anywhere in the store forget going into any major department store with it or even near the Old Navy wing it just drops. So for everyone who loves this company there crazy even gave me a hard time returning the phone after only three days saying I didn't give it enough time to truly try it come on get real.

No reception at all. I called tech support on a land line. They asked me to wait whilst conducting tests. a few minutes later asked to power up my cell phone. Two bar reception. A few minutes later lost recetion never got it back. I subsequently received an email advising me that this area wpould be upgraded in the next six months (early 2005).

In my home, the signal is non existent 90% of the time and sporadically spikes to full bars. Strange because I have had Cingular / CellularOne Service for years, and always had awesome reception up til the middle of Nov 2004. Of course, when I leave my house area by 4/5 miles, reception is good again. I just dumped Cingular. For me, the most important areas for great recption is your home and workplace.

Route 9 / Central Pkwy. intersection, Bayville, NJ 08721 |
Fri Dec 10, 2004 |
I purchased my ATT wireless phone last December and I get no service at all on Route 9 from Lacey to Bayville. Now since Cingular took over, my phone has been saying unregistered SIM or just no service. I can't see how service is better. When you call for technical assistance you are left on hold for 3 hours and they try to blame the problem on water damage to the phone. I only have 19 hours on my phone that will soon be 1 year old.
