heading east on oradell ave., just east of the forest ave. traffic light you will encounter a complete and utter "dead zone" using Verizon wireless carrier... it will extend and continue eastward until the intersection of oradell ave and kinderkamack... changing modes and beeping constantly..
Packanack lake is horrible, zero bars all over the place in there and hamburg turnpike has spots with zero bars as well. Someone mentioned the Sprint tower behind greenhouse cafe, why cant Verizon put something there. Mother is satisfied but I am ready to switch. two to four bars at home for voice but always only one bar of evdo at home and in most places.

Upgraded to a newer phone (from SGH-E317 which got at least one or two bars now and again) and have absolutely NO signal. The entire town of Park Ridge seems to be "blocked" somehow, even though the AT&T map shows this as an "orange" area (red being excellent). It's not the phone because it works well anywhere else!
If you have Verizon wireless and come into my neighbor don't expect to get a call or a text. Brookwood 3 in Jackson, NJ get no service at all. I have to walk around my house to get a signal.
Inside my house, you're guaranteed no coverage.. no matter what the model, carrier, or religion that you pray to for signal. Additional towers are needed, or that $250.00 internet repeater Verizon now sells

No reception. I have heard that Verizon is trying to site a tower nearby to improve reception, but the battle with local residents has be ongoing for 4+ years.

There is a brief dead spot for AT&T reception starting from intersection of great road and cherry valley road going south towards rt 206. It ends near the princeton academy. I travel through this route frequently and my active call always hungs up on me.
Making or receiving calls in Rockaway are pretty much non-existent. If I am lucky enough to be able to make or receive a call, in about 1 or 2 seconds the call is dropped. I complained to Verizon about this problem, they said they would look into it, and about a week or more later I was told that the Rockaway area does need more cell phone towers, and that will be built in about 3 or 4 years, which I think is shameful. With the money they make why can't they build the necessary towers now, so we can all have good service. What a joke that they have a TV commercial about Verizon not having any Dead Zones! I am an older woman, and I certainly hope I will be around when the towers go up. I am seriously considering breaking my contract, and signing up with AT&T. Everyone I know who has them, are a whole lot happier than I am with my service.
I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile for more minutes / cheaper price. What a mistake. T-Mobile gets no bars in the building I work in. I get 1 or no bars in most buildings in North Jersey. What a joke. I get teased with the SOS bar all the time. What a waste of money--I'll have to cancel the contract and pay their ridiculous $200 ETF. Oh and don't try going through the Lincoln or Holland Tunnels--you drop the call about 50 feet in.
