As of late, AT&T cell coverage has become terrible. E.g. long delays in transmitting text messages, dropped calls, loss of service. I'm curious if this is a homeland security issue in Manhattan affecting all carriers or if AT&T is just farming out its duties to subcontractors.

Horrible reception. 1 bar to 4 bars to none. Try making a call from my home or even my yard and the screen will black out. I called Sprint and they tell me I am in one of those 1 mile "dead zones" yet they want to keep me as a customer. The funny thing is, about a year and a half ago, I could make calls and receive them in certain areas of the house. They have pulled bandwidth from this area, and yet will only not bill be for 1 / 2 month, when this has been going on for over a year! I'm switching service IMMEDIATELY as soon as I can find one that works in the area. But inevitably, they are ALL doing the same thing to everyone. Probably the only one not doing it is Verizon, and that is most likely because everyone else is using Verizon's lines and they are all just leeches on Verizon's system, also known as RESELLERS! They have less space on their routers and have to keep re-routing in order to maintain space on those routers and various customers get screwed in the process.

This might be temporary as I have had reception here in the past, but now there is no reception between Spring St. and Houston St. on the west side of 6th Ave.

Switched from Verizon to Sprint to save $. Big mistake, I went all of Labor Day weekend with NO cell or data coverage. Switched back to Verizon the day after Labor Day. Spend too much time on the North Fork to not have any phone service.

The service flips to Verizon their roaming partner and back. Its like a dead zone since both Sprint and Verizon Roaming on this phone at this location is problematic. I will condede that it could be the phone with two year old tech, but its been that way since two years ago. Getting a new phone this month.

I just switched to T-mobile, and I have no service at all in Grand Central Terminal, New York. Can't believe it.

virgin mobile does not work out here in Stephentown anywhere you have to drive to Lebanon to use it

We switched to Verizon a few months ago hoping for better coverage that ATT but we get nothing at home now. ATT we did have reception at our house but questionable elsewhere.
