Main St., Lake Placid, NY 12946 Thu Nov 09, 2006

My wife and I were on vacation in Lake Placid, NY. This location is somewhat remote, but certainly not isolated. We were doing some shopping separately along Main Street. She has Cingular coverage and I have Verizon. After several hours I called her cell phone to find out exactly where she was so we could meet for dinner. My phone had coverage although the call went directly to her Cingular voice-mail. I then searched several minutes for her and found her in a store a couple of hundred yards down the street from where I had been. Her phone had been on but she had no coverage at all, which is why the call went directly to her voice-mail. We travel a lot and we run into this problem with no Cingular coverage a lot.

Six Flags - Darien Lake, Darien Center, NY 14040 Thu Nov 09, 2006

Several times my wife reported no Cingular coverage at this location which is approximately 45 minutes from our home. This location is rural but not remote and is a major tourist destination. In addition to that, it's less than 5 miles from I-90, a major Interstate. I called Cingular numerous times during a one-year period to cpmplain about the lack of coverage. Each call ended with promises of more towers being installed to end the lack of coverage. But the problem was never solved. I drove there personally to check the performance of both my wife's Cingular coverage and my Verizon coverage by calling our home, approximately 45 minutes east of that location. More than one attempt was made to call home using my wife's phone but there was absolutely no Cingular coverage at all. Immediately after that, I called home using my LG phone with Verizon coverage and the call connected and went through the first time. We travel a lot and we run into this problem with no Cingular coverage many times in our travels.

Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549 Mon Nov 06, 2006

There is no place on the Hofstra University campus where I can get cell phone reception with my T-Mobile cellphone. Other students are talking away on their cell phones, but they have Verizon. I don't understand why t-mobile, who boasts of expanded coverage, doesn't do something about this. I will be switching to Verizon, which works on the Hofstra Campus in Hempstead, Long Island, New York.

From Rockland Ave all the way down to the end of Hylan Blvd.there is no cell reception and I have had various cell phones T-Mobile, Cingular just to name a few. Someone else mentioned Richmond Terrace I live near there on Heberton ave and never had a problem with reception the only time I do is when the weather is extremely bad

Church St. / Elm St. intersection, Chadwicks, NY 13319 Sun Nov 05, 2006

The only reception on Verizon we get is if we stand at the end of our driveway. Otherwise we have to drive in the car at least to the post office on Oneida St. to even get 1 bar. No calls come in at all while the phone is in the house. Someone told us (after we signed our 2 yr) that we're too deep in the valley to pick up the signal. It's worthless here.

T-mobile service out on Long Island,NY is the worst.Had no problem with Sprint..Sorry I switched, should have stayed with Sprint or gone to Verizon. I am tempted to pay the cancellation fee rather then find me or a family member in a emergency situation having to rely on T-Mobile..terrible reception to no reception.
